sdmike Posted January 31, 2013 #27 Share Posted January 31, 2013 my daughter (11) was all freaked out by the Mayan calendar thing until I had her walk over to our wall calendar. I asked "what's the last day on our calendar". She said "December 31". I said, "I can assure you the world isn't ending on that day just because the calendar stops". (sorry, OT a bit)
Out to sea! Posted January 31, 2013 #28 Share Posted January 31, 2013 I agree with what others have said here. You booked less than nine months before sailing. I'd suggest either trying to talk to NCL or your travel agent, depending how you booked your cruise and seeing if they will make an exception. Otherwise make your booking past the nine months to get the deal if its in your schedule to do so. What would be the justification for an exception? If they make an exception (except to correct their own mistakes), they would have to make an exception for everyone.

You would have to ask NCL that question if they were inclined to provide an exception in this sort of situation.
Karysa Posted January 31, 2013 #30 Share Posted January 31, 2013 Sites such as cruisecritic make it next to impossible for cruiselines to make exceptions to the rules. Word gets out that one person was allowed to bend the rules and then everyone tries it.:)
jingle5616 Posted January 31, 2013 #31 Share Posted January 31, 2013 When I booked my Bahamas cruise, I was told by both my PCC and her manager that I would get the extra points for booking nine months out. Told her I didn't see how, but was assured that I would get them because they counted on a 30 day month. So I booked the cruise and took the cruise. Sure enough, when I got home and the points posted, I only received 8 points instead of the 12 that I was told I would get. I would have booked a later cruise, but was repeatedly assured that I didn't have to. Yep, there is that good NCL customer service!
