Katana_Geldar Posted February 4, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2013 I was snorkelling Isle of Pines recently and I was astonished to see kids tying to grab fish. Honestly, don't they know anything? If people 'attack' the fish, then they go away. Or hide so you can't see them. We are VISITING their home, act like a visitor and don't touch anything! One guy told me he had to punch a fish that swam too close. Then I learned that him and his kids were trying to grab them.

Rare BillOh Posted February 4, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2013 I know when I took my open water certification, I was swatting blue gill like mosquitos until we got to about 17 ft. They are as thick as bugs in many midewestern lakes and people like to come and feed them. When your on a platform trying to pay attention to an instructor, they can be somewhat annoying. Laurie S. Posted February 4, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2013 If you don't want to touch fish, stay out of Grand Caymen when the silversides are running:

Capt_BJ Posted February 16, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2013 If they grab a lionfish they'll never try to do it again .... they'll probably never pick up a can of tuna again!
