I don't remember seeing any in 2013 when I was there, but that doesn't mean they didn't have them. If you got there early enough in the day, there were plenty of shady spots under trees to choose from.

I did research before we left on Allure in January 2014. I found Red Stripe Beach was the closest beach. I did see Royal Caribbean offered it as an excursion but there was six of us so we decided we would try to take a taxi there. Once off the ship, we asked at the taxi stand and was told no taxis were allowed to go to Red Stripe Beach since it was owned by the cruise lines.

 

We were able to buy tickets at the bus (excursion) for $5 cheaper than what Royal Caribbean was charging. It was a newer beach when we went. We enjoyed our time there.

Sorry to beat a dead horse here...but, is this book only accessible to Royal Caribbean cruisers? Going on a Disney cruise next month...

We were just at Red Stripe beach when our Celebrity cruise at the last minute substituted Falmouth for Key West. We booked while onboard since we didn't have time to plan anything and this beach was a very pleasant surprise! Extremely clean and the water was beautiful. Beach chairs are still just $5 each and there was plenty of shade from the palm trees. I had a pina colada and it was good also.
