Has anyone found discount coupons for attractiions when they arrive in an Alaskan port. I know there are coupon books being sold, but can't justify buying one as there aren't enough attractions listed of interest.

Some of the attractions are interesting, but expensive for what you get.

I've never seen coupons in port. Yes, the excursions can be expensive, but I don't know that I would say "expensive for what you get." Some of these thing cannot be seen or done elsewhere. You just have to accept that things are expensive in Alaska and enjoy the experience.

I have been to Alaska a number of times and haven't seen any discounted excursion books when we arrived in port. However, we have seen booths and people offering excursions near the dock or inside town. We have never used the vendors at the dock so I can't say if the prices are discounted or not.

 

As far as the pricing of an excursion, I have never felt that we overpaid for the memories that we got.

I so agree w/you, Karen, the memories are priceless! And we don't regret a single pricey excursion (....Well, not true, we regretted the jeep/canoe excursion we booked thru HAL in Ketchikan. Lesson learned.:o) But other than that, we have had amazing experiences in Alaska, and we're looking forward to a lot more:D!
