Giovanni's Table on IOTS

Recommended Posts

I notice that the Indy is getting a 'Giovanni's Table' restaurant in her upgrade.

Does anyone know/think this will be in addition to 'Portofino', or will be a replacement?

And if it is a replacement, is 'Giovanni's Table' better?

Giovanni's will replace Portofino. One difference is Giovanni's is open for lunch and dinner.

We were serious fans of Portofino's. Loved it. WOuld book it 3 or 4 nights on every cruise...Now that Giovanni's is here, we have dumped our old love affair, kicked Protofino to the curb, wiped it from our memory, and have fallen in love with Giovanni's Table.

You are in for a wonderful dining experience!!!!!

We have always enjoyed Portofino's on past cruises and would go at least once and sometimes twice during a one week cruise. Our last several cruises have been on either Allure or Oasis. We started a practice of having lunch on embarcation day at Giovanni's Table. We skip the WJ and have a relaxing lunch with great food and wine, without the crowds. It has been one of the highlights of our cruises. We are sailing on IOS in July and will try doing the same at the new Giovanni's. May also try GT for dinner on this cruise.

The difference we found on Oasis is that Giovanni's allowed children at all times. We had an 8:30 pm dinner and there was a huge table of children with parents at another table - just a bit loud! Food was wonderful though! Loved the coffee and dessert!

Totally agree with this.

Dined at Giovanni's Table last week on the Allure, and LOVED it. We had visited Italy this past summer, and found Giovanni's to be very authentic and delicious Italian food...but this poster said it so much more eloquently!
