Do they have 2 year old sized ice skates on Explorer?

Hi! My nephew will be 2 and a half. Do they have little skates to use for the ice rink?

They do start them off very small. And on one RCI ship with an ice skating rink I did ask because my daughter was 3 at the time and the skates would have fit her but it would have been more like me dragging her along the ice than her skating.

 

So to answer your question - possibly pending on his shoe size - they do go VERY small. Next question - a toddler doesn't really skate on ice but is dragged on ice ;)

I know I had to sign my life away for my daughter to do it. So I don't know if in the "rules" it says proper footwear - I am going to guess it does. They probably don't allow sneakers on their ice.

My son took skating lessons when we were onboard Indy. It was hard for him because the ship was moving. I'm not sure I'd want a two year old on the ice. I think it could be a bit hazardous. I'm over-protective though.

What about helmets? Do the rent/loan them? Or do they let the kids go without?

They "loan" helmets, along with ice skates. No need to rent ($). Depending on the size of a 2yo, not so sure they will have skates to fit. either in 2008 or 2009 it became mandatory to wear a helmet, prior it was not.

We just got off the voyager of the seas with our 3 year old and the skates fitted her fine, the helmet was included as is the knee and elbow guards. Have fun!!! We did

At 3 my DD was able to ice skate, and she has small feet :)
