luckyprincess Posted February 14, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2013 Hi! My nephew will be 2 and a half. Do they have little skates to use for the ice rink?
crusinmama06 Posted February 14, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2013 They do start them off very small. And on one RCI ship with an ice skating rink I did ask because my daughter was 3 at the time and the skates would have fit her but it would have been more like me dragging her along the ice than her skating. So to answer your question - possibly pending on his shoe size - they do go VERY small. Next question - a toddler doesn't really skate on ice but is dragged on ice ;)
luckyprincess Posted February 14, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted February 14, 2013 Lol good to know! So will they be ok with him wearing little shoes on the ice being pulled along?
crusinmama06 Posted February 15, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 15, 2013 Lol good to know! So will they be ok with him wearing little shoes on the ice being pulled along? Now THAT I don't know ;) I know I had to sign my life away for my daughter to do it. So I don't know if in the "rules" it says proper footwear - I am going to guess it does. They probably don't allow sneakers on their ice.
rebeccalouiseagain Posted February 15, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 15, 2013 My son took skating lessons when we were onboard Indy. It was hard for him because the ship was moving. I'm not sure I'd want a two year old on the ice. I think it could be a bit hazardous. I'm over-protective though.
B_Mc Posted February 15, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 15, 2013 What about helmets? Do the rent/loan them? Or do they let the kids go without?
Sugar*Magnolia Posted February 17, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 17, 2013 What about helmets? Do the rent/loan them? Or do they let the kids go without? They "loan" helmets, along with ice skates. No need to rent ($). Depending on the size of a 2yo, not so sure they will have skates to fit. either in 2008 or 2009 it became mandatory to wear a helmet, prior it was not.
