SeaBands Posted February 16, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2013 But most are not near the pier. We usually go the Guy Harvey.
TurtleTagger Posted February 16, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2013 There are some nicer, upscale Italian options along N. Church St., a short-ish walk from the pier towards Seven Mile Beach. La Dolce Vita (a fave) and Casanova.
julee407 Posted February 16, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted February 16, 2013 Yes, we'd like to find something close to the port and relaxing. Thanks everyone.
poison7fl Posted February 18, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 18, 2013 Margaritaville is pierside...
mrsfuzzmo Posted February 22, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 22, 2013 Close to the pier I would recommend Paradise Grill. Right on the water, nice breezes, decent local food and prices! Love MyBar at Sunset House as well, but a bit of a walk.

TurtleTagger Posted February 26, 2013 #9 Share Posted February 26, 2013 Which way do you go from the pier to get to Paradise Grill? To the right (when facing town).
ssap01 Posted March 20, 2013 #10 Share Posted March 20, 2013 I am interested in trying the local food. Does anyone have any recommendations for places?
FireMedT Posted March 20, 2013 #11 Share Posted March 20, 2013 I ate at Rackam's a few blocks left of the pier. It's open air on the water and it's a bar and restaurant. The food was very good.
cod Posted March 24, 2013 #12 Share Posted March 24, 2013 It's been a few years since we've been to Grand Cayman, but walked to the right getting off the tenders to a place right on the water which must be what is called Paradise Grill. We had drinks and some very good nachos and plan to do it again later this year. If this is the place I remember, they had some stairs down to the water almost adjacent and people were going down to snorkel (?).

If this is the place I remember, they had some stairs down to the water almost adjacent and people were going down to snorkel (?). That sounds right. It is about 1/4 mile walk to the right. The Paradise is at Eden Rock where there is decent snorkeling and some tame tarpon to swim with.
drew sailbum Posted March 25, 2013 #14 Share Posted March 25, 2013 I am interested in trying the local food. Does anyone have any recommendations for places? For local food you need to go somewhere other than the main tourist restaurants. Champion House II has a location in the MacDonald Square building, 51 Fort St, which is next to the Town Hall building where the clock tower is located. Corita's Copper Kettle is at 3 Dr Roys Drive, on the corner with Edward St. Both offer real Cayman cooking. Try Cayman style fish (with lots of peppers and scallions), salt beef and beans, or jerk pork.
