Host Caroline Posted June 8, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2005 Well the Diamond was late to Juneau again so any of you planning to book whale waching with Capt Larry (who have NOT already done so) will probably be told you can't book before 3:00p.m. This ship being late all the time has made havoc of their schedule although the whole staff worked amazingly hard to reschedule entire group and purser staff onboard were wonderful to give me phone access, get our group off early etc.. so KUDOS to them. Saw pods of orcas all around both boats that finally got out at about 4:00 and later group saw humpbacks.. Been sunny AND warm all week. .. got into Tracy Arm all the way for great views of twin Glaciers...
bburns Posted June 9, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2005 Why was it late? Do they think it was a one off occurrence or is this going to continue? What did they do with people booked on ship tours that were to leave before the ship docked?
Host Caroline Posted June 9, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted June 9, 2005 Apparently acc. to Carol and dockmaster they use weather as the excuse although there was medical emergency one week.. all other ships arrive on schedule so not sure what's up... we had no weather issue on the way up. The cancelled some ship tours (not sure which) and asked others to come to reschedule. No plans to change itinerary time that I have been able to find out. They have also been late to Victoria so it will be interesting to see if we make it there Friday evening as weather is predicted to be good! Rare Coral Posted June 9, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 9, 2005 Caroline - you can answer this when you return. Can you look at the patter and tell me when Libby Riddles is on the ship in Juneau? Thanks!
