We are slated to go the 1st part of Sept. Anyone know aprox. what the weather is like? And it is our 15th anniversary and 1st time to Alaska, we have cruise Princes before and found they are more formal on formal night than Carnival and wondering if this is so in Alaska. We would like to dress up a bit more than the Carnival. Also any info or tips for the cruise would be great. Thanks !

We went on the exotic explorer Princess cruise tour in late August, the land tour first, getting on the ship the 1st week of September. For the weather was beautiful- rained only late at night, sunny during the day, except a couple of foggy mornings- it burned off by 10am. On Glacier Bay day we wore lined jackets over jeans and sweatshirts and had to wear gloves. I bundled up while having breakfast on our balcony, but the view was worth it. On one formal night I wore an evening gown and on the other I wore a cocktail dress. My husband wore a dark suit. I think that warm weather cruises have dressier formal nights because people are in shorts and swimsuits during the day and since they have to change anyway, they go for it! Since it will be your anniversary and there will be picture opportunities, go crazy and dress to the nines. You won't be out of place no matter what you do. Have fun.
