ombrelle Posted March 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2013 Will be boarding ship in Savona(Italy) visiting ports: Olympia(Greece) Haifa(ISRAEL) Izmir(TURKEY) Athens(Greece) Rome(Civitavecchia) back to Savona Has anyone taken a similar voyage and can you advise on the best side of ship, for best views etc.? You will not be sailing close enough to shore (except when transiting the Straits of Messina) to see anything, and most of the ports are not picturesque and not attractive. You also don't know how or where the ship will dock. Athens(Piraeus) is a very interesting port due to all of the ferry traffic. Some are larger than your ship (whichever that is).
