familycruzinnewbie Posted March 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2013 We have a cruise booked for April 2014 from Miami. We had been wanting to book a med cruise for a while but timing and airfare was always an issue. DH could never travel on the fall but can this year. Now we may be going on a family trip to Rome in Sept (or October) to visit an older relative and are considering bringing our 11 and 13 year old with us. They are seasoned land based European travellers but have never been to Italy. So just wondering is there a cheaper cruise I can add on that won't make the trip too long (as kids will be out of school). Or else we can just add on a 2nd city and maybe do open Jaw airfare. We are really early in discussion right now. Thanks
Rare Essiesmom Posted March 10, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2013 Look at Royal Caribbean cruises, particularly the Eastern Med - Adriatic. They may not be particularly cheap now, but prices really drop near and after final payment, and sometimes it seems like they are paying you to sail...It's too early to see drops in the Med now, but keep an eye here: http://www.creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Multi_Dest/Special_Offers/rci_sales_event.pdf Specials are posted Thursday night, and available for booking only on Tuesdays. The one to watch is Navigator of the Seas from Rome. EM
