Unlimited Photo Package

Recommended Posts

Just an FYI, on the Allure a couple weeks ago, they had a special the first three days of the cruise where if you bought the photo package for all photos on a CD for $309.95, you could get all the prints for $50, instead of the "normal" $100 extra. We ended up with well over 200 photos.

I've been looking at it for a bit, so I can tell you it varies per sailing. For my sailing on the Freedom it's $224.95 for just digital and $100 more to include prints.

I noticed the sailings over the holidays were MUCH more.

Just purchased the all digital package today for $225 fo rmy april 6th sailing. Last year the same sailing (april 5th) cost me $275.

I'll probably buy the prints once on the ship. we ended up with over 330 last year!

We are traveling with a group of 15 across 6 cabins celebrating my niece's 16th birthday. The way I read it, we would need to get a different package for each family (4). Is this correct? If not, it would be an awesome deal. But, otherwise it would be approx $800 for all of us....not a good deal to me....someone please advise if I don't understand this correctly!

If your cabin orders this package, you'll receive all the pictures that have at least one person from your cabin in them.

1. If you buy one package online in advance, they should meet that price for all packages that become necessary and there are situations where multiple purchases result in a second cabin charge of half price onboard. This is not followed uniformly around the fleet. All photos that include at least one member from this paid cabin will be included.

2. If you have cabins where there are children under the age of 21, they are linked to the parents cabin onboard and this link for second cabin is free of charge. If there is an adult in this cabin, it is not linked for free, but paid.

3. If they have a 'sale' onboard, they have a price guarantee in the contract that words it in a way to make it sound like you should get a reduction to the sale price if less than what you paid.

4. If you do not buy one online, they do not have to meet this price if it is less than what they offer onboard.

I know all this as I asked when I sailed on Serenade, Liberty, Navigator and Oasis all in this past year. Then, when I needed it on Vision in November they refused to give a discount for second cabin, even though every other ship had told me they would.

I think this may have to do with they did not install the automated digital system on Vision during the recent dry-dock, while your ship, Freedom, has digital and should be no problem.

When I showed my dissatisfaction, it seems the Concierge said I could have just cancelled the package. I did not want to cancel and we just got all pictures from the one pre-paid cabin that had at least one person in the photo.

With the growth of multi-generational cruising, I wish they just had multiple-cabin pricing from the beginning, so you did not need to go through all the hassle onboard the ship, where you should just be enjoying your cruise.

You can look on the MyCruisePhotos.com website to see which options are available on your cruise. Some ships only have the option to purchase prints and not a cd containing your prints.

Serenade also had a special for the first three days. The digital package was normally $299, but for the first three days it was $199. Sadly, we didn't know if we would have enough pix that we liked by day 3 to make it worthwhile and ended up paying full price on day 7.

I know that there have already been many questions about that, but I am not sure if I understand right. We are 8 adults and 1 child in 4 cabins:

1: Grandparents

2: Son of grandparents (18) and friend

3: Daughter of grandparents (28), her husband and child (2)

4: Other Grandparents from child (2) in cabin 3

So would it be possible to buy a package for cabin 1 und then cabin 2 will be included because of the son of under 21? What about Cabin 3? Is a grandchild under 21 possible or just a child under 21?

How many packages would we have to buy?

What do you mean with "linked reservations"? We have 4 different reservation numbers, but booked together at one travel agency.

Thank you very much for your help! (I am a "newbie" sailing on Quantum in Feb 2015 :-))

Don't know for sure but I don't think "grand" counts. Cabins 1 and 2 may be one package not sure if Royal uses 18 or 21 as adult. If you are looking for group shots, only need 1 package purchased by whoever will be in most/all pics....2yo. I did end up with duplicate pics. The photo package is an outside company, the website may answer the question as to cabins 1 and 2.

I really do not think you will have any problem. When you board, go to the photo studio and speak to the manager. They will typically open by 5:00 PM on boarding day.

As previous posters stated as long as you or your children are in the photos, shouldn't be a problem. You can also go to the mycruisephotos.com website and email the photography vendor your question. The website might be down when they update it and add additional cruises.

Enjoy.

Thinking of getting the package, can someone explain the process? I get that we prepay, etc. So, when we board, and photos are snapped all over the place, do we have to show them our room card, or is the face recognition pretty flawless, and then the photos just show up in our cabin, or we need to go get them from walls?

Sailing on the Liberty in 3 weeks, if that matters.

We just got off of a six night Independence cruise and we had the all incluisive prints and DVD package. The below is our experience on this ship only, as things worked differently when we were on the Majesty last year.

Most times they would scan your sea-pass card. For those they didn't, the facial recognition did a good job. It even caught several of us when we both had sunglasses on.

For the all prints portion, you have to go to the photo studio and pull the prints off the wall and hand them to the photo staff. They will have a file-cabinet with a folder for you in it - where they will stockpile the photos until the last night of the cruise.

You can scan your sea-pass card on one of the kiosks in the photo studio area and preview all of the photos that will be on the DVD. If there are any on the kiosk, that you didn't find on the wall, you can order prints of them there as well. We had this happen with one photo.

We also had an instance where we knew we had a series of photos taken with one photographer. We could not find them on the wall, and they were not showing up on the electronic kiosk. We tracked the photographer down and he went to their "main" computer in the back room and was able to find them. He sent them for prints and also added them to the digitial kiosk to be added to the DVD.

On the last night of the cruise you go pick up your prints and your DVD. On this sailing that was all ready around 9:00pm.

For us, it is a smoking deal. We purposely search out the photographers and get our pictures taken at every chance. We ended up with 230 prints (and the DVD with all of the originals) for this six night cruise.

Dan.

Where are the photographers mainly? Are they around just before dinner? Or are there other occasions to get the possibility to get great pictures taken?

Besides the typical dinner areas, I see the photographers right next to the gangplank, wandering around Coco Cay and Labadee, on the pool deck, on sometimes around the port area.

Is the mycruisephotos link working for anyone?

I tried going in from my reservation on Royal's website. I've tried directly from mycruisephotos.com. I've tried at my work computer, and from home.

I've been trying since yesterday - multiple attempts, and i keep getting the pic of a pair pf pliers saying the website is under maintenance.

Anyone have any suggestions?

$324 for the unlimited package with prints. or $224 with just digital copies of all photos.

It's a 5 day cruise.

Liberty- March 10, 2014.

so, if I take the 10 or 15 digital photo package, does this mean that we take as many photos as we want to, and then select the 10, or 15 that we want?

Do we select on the ship, or after we return back home - ie, do it all online, and then we get a download of these selections?

It is best just to take the digital copies of all photos. Funny when were were on a two week cruise on the Equinox, we paid the same as a one week cruise-I do not understand how they calculate the package. It is almost as if they have one price for either digital and or prints. Also Celebrity packages were cheaper then RC's. I bet the Disney package is the most expensive.

However, if each print costs between $15 (very few) and $25, still better to take the package. We carried home the hard copies a few times with the disc, but they were very heavy, I was almost tempted to give the hardcopies back!

Better to make copies of what you want or download to a website that makes albums at home. Much cheaper also.

Thanks for the info - you seem to know a lot about these packages.

So, I just go to the photo desk during the last night, and pick up the DVD with all my digital photos on it?

Or.... Can I just download them from the website after I get back home? (I would check the Kiosks from time to time during the cruise to make sure my pics were there).

Also.. if I just get the 10 digitial photo package - can I select the 10 photos at the Kiosks?

Yes I do know a lot! I have taken the package about 12 times! We have taken grandchildren with us on both Celebrity and Royal- and it is our activity to run from photographer to photographer every day! We even take at least three different shots when we get off at the ports also! It is just fun! Unfortunately, I have seen us age- and the pictures show it! Maybe taking so many pictures over the years isn't so great! lol. As the wrinkles keep coming perhaps we will stop! We do not gamble- so this is our Casino Money!

You decide which ten pictures you want- but it will truly be hard to decide. Sometimes the pictures are great! So ten isn't as much as you think. Many different photographers daily and random deck and bar shots. They do not save the pictures. When you are home you cannot order any as they are deleted.

Enjoy!

I bet the Disney package is the most expensive.

We were on the Disney Magic for the Transatlantic last May and it was $399 for the digital copies and if you wanted all the prints it was an additional $75 so we managed to get 593 prints (6x8 and 8x10's) plus digital copies for $475 which we think is an absolute BARGAIN!!!!!

As I had thought, the Disney is the most expensive and Celebrity the least expensive! RC in the middle- supply and demand!
