Which drink gives the most bang for the buck?

Aside from a long island, which Carnival drink packs the most punch? I have never ordered any drink of the days on my cruises. Are they worth it? I have a limited bar budget  and want to make the most of it!

Don't forget about the match play for some drinks....my son missed out because he didn't pay attention to the receipt and no one mentioned it. He liked the Cruiser.

What is match play? I have never heard of this......

Good point with the bar tender. I will definitely make that effort.

Martini - best bang for your buck! I like to get mine from the bar that does the Martini tastings. Seems they are the only bar that can consistently make a good Martini. It's hit and miss at other bars IMHO.

The frozen fruity drinks have like a thimble full of alcohol in them and are tasty- but not really the drink I am looking for.

The Mai Tai is my drink of choice. I'm always giggling after two or three of those. Take a look at the ingredients and see if it is something you would like.

Mai Tai

1 part White rum

1 part Dark rum

1/2 part Amaretto Di Saronno®

1/2 part Apricot Brandy

1/2 part Orange Curacao

1/2 part Lime juice

top off with Pineapple juice

They are very tasty! :D

There is a Classic Cocktail menu. If you order one of these drinks you can take the ticket to the casino window and you will get a $5 match play chip. If you bet $5 they will match it making it a $10 bet. I will usually save them up and use them the last day at sea!:)

I'm going to try this one on my Princess cruise. It sounds potent and refreshing.

Beverly Hills Iced Tea

1/2 ounce vodka

1/2 ounce light rum

1/2 ounce gin

1/2 ounce tequila

1/2 ounce triple sec

1 ounce fresh lemon juice

1/2 ounce simple syrup (2 parts sugar, 1 part water)

1 ounce sparkling white wine

1 lemon wedge

Sounds like a headache if you have to many of these.

My favorite is a lemon drop martini. To many of these will give you a headache, too...

Watch out with sugary sweet drinks like these. One night after three of these on the Pride, my poor husband was throwing up his toenails. :( I matched him with 3 appletinis and felt fine.

I agree with with you on the Mai Tai. It does not taste like a traditional Mai Tai at all but is good and has some kick to it.
