zwolinski Posted March 14, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2013 Has anyone had any experience bringing bottled water on board when you are in port? We have only done so at embarkation. Celebrity just told me that we CANNOT. Since we are flying to London, would like to purchase bottles at the ports. I try to limit the drinking of ship water due to sensitivity to the sodium content. Thanks.
Karen@Steve Posted March 15, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2013 Interesting, who at Celebrity told you you could not bring water on board? It's true that you can't bring liquor on board after embarkation where 2 bottles of wine is the limit. However, I've brought non-alcoholic beverages aboard at various ports including water and soda. It's never been an issue for me.

zwolinski Posted March 15, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted March 15, 2013 Called Celebrity & spoke to someone in the "booked cruise" dept., needed to ask a few questions. She informed me that it was against Celebrity policy. ???????
seiyafan Posted March 15, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 15, 2013 I started a similar post a while ago because of the high priced beverage package, at that time people said you could bring water and soda on board.
kitty9 Posted March 15, 2013 #6 Share Posted March 15, 2013 Did it occur to anyone that the rules for the UK cruises might be different? I don't know that for sure but that might be a reason.
Phxazzcruisers Posted March 15, 2013 #7 Share Posted March 15, 2013 I think it is wrong information. We have brought back water and energy drinks back on board at several port stops on our various cruises and NEVER had an issue.
Karen@Steve Posted March 15, 2013 #8 Share Posted March 15, 2013 I'm thinking that the Celebrity Rep didn't understand the question. They may have interpreted that the OP wanted to bring liquor bottles on board.

It would be nice if they actually knew "Celebrity policy," but the sad fact is they haven't a clue. And they don't even have the grace to say they don't know. You may bring on all the bottled water you wish whenever you wish. I have brought on bottled water and soda at various port calls with nary a problem. I don't know that for sure but that might be a reason. Why would the rules be different for UK cruises? It's a Celebrity cruise. Celebrity has always allowed people to bring on water and soda. Gonzo70 Posted March 15, 2013 #11 Share Posted March 15, 2013 I have never heard of someone not being permitted to bring on board water (so long as it is sealed) from a port.
