3030 Posted March 18, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2013 Does Carnival give you an extra day in your previous port? We are scheduled on the Liberty on April 13 and it seems everyday something is happening with Carnival.

No - you get an extra day at sea - they have to pay every time they port and cannot just stay over. You will be reimbursed for port fees and taxes and MAY get a small OBC but that is it
firefly333 Posted March 18, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 18, 2013 You have 24 hours to cancel if they change the itinerary (which sounds like they have). If they miss a port during your cruise, the FAQs say you get the tax back on your port charges, about $10. they may even give you extra OBC .. depends .. lately they have so many complaints you may get extra to keep you happy but they only have to give you the taxes back on your port charges as OBC once onboard. Most cruise ships don't make this determination until they're underway to that port... so no extra day at your last port. Some cruise lines will try to make a different port ie Nassau for GT if?? they know far enough in advance - but most just make it an extra sea day. ib4cruzn Posted March 18, 2013 #6 Share Posted March 18, 2013 You have 24 hours to cancel if they change the itinerary (which sounds like they have).. Yup, this has happened twice to us. They handed us flyers as we boarded so so much for the 24 hours. We sure enjoyed our collective 20 dollars though. We spit a DOD!

I also hope that they assign a new port and not a sea day if it comes down to it.

Aoumd Posted March 18, 2013 #11 Share Posted March 18, 2013 I was on Breeze last week and we skipped Grand Turk. We found out on board around dinnertime the night before we were due to dock there, about 26 hours into our cruise after leaving Miami. We were refunded $14/person in port fees to our Sail & Sign Accounts, and spent extra time in Jamaica (Ocho Rios) instead. In addition they gave us free wine the next evening at dinner.
