Scott1sh Posted March 20, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 20, 2013 We visited The Cloud in Edinburgh a couple of years ago. We had initially e-mailed Silversea requesting a visit, but didn't get a response. I then wrote to the Venetian Society who were most helpful, and sent us a form to complete and return to them. On the day itself, we arrived at the ship at the agreed time, and were welcomed aboard. Upon embarkation we were given a laminated visitor pass which we were asked to clip to our jackets and remain visible at all times. We were given a tour of the ship by the Cruise Consultant, followed by afternoon tea in the Panorama Lounge where the CC made it very clear that she would be very happy to make any future bookings for us there and then. She then left us to it to enjoy our afternoon. The staff were as lovely as ever and offered us a couple of glasses of champagne once our hostess had left. We then had one last walk around the ship (unaccompanied) and left the ship of our own accord. It was a nice way to spend an afternoon, although I would recommend that you persevere with SS HQ to ensure that your ship visit actually happens. Rare Silver Spectre Posted March 20, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 20, 2013 Has anyone taken advantage of the Ship Visitation privileges? How did it go? :) Visited the Cloud for lunch when tied up to HMS Belfast the summer before last. Arranged through the London Office (contact Shane Shaw, Guest Relations Mgr), very easy to do, had to pay for lunch. Did not bother the cruise consultant as we had been on the Wind (and thay are effectively the same ship). Anyway, we had a beautiful lunch on the open side of La Terrazza looking down river through the Tower of London on a nice sunny day. All in all, simple and very satisfactory.
