TillThen Posted March 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2013 Is there a running/walking track on the Island Princess? Is it outdoors....I've been on cruise ships where the track was covered at least part of the way. We on the 3 day Coastal LA to Vancouver in May, and it will be chilly if it's outside. cookieartist Posted March 23, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2013 We did this exact cruise last year but on the Coral (sister ship) and the weather was great. Don't know about a jog track up top but we "fast" walked the promenade deck which goes all the way around. The promenade is covered and even has some enclosed areas (across the bow and stern) so you are protected even if it rains. Depending on the wind direction, one side of the ship will be "cooler" than the other but feels good after working up a sweat.

Loonbeam Posted March 24, 2013 #6 Share Posted March 24, 2013 The promenade deck wraps the ship on one level, there is no jogging track per se, so most people use that unless too crowded...
Astro Flyer Posted March 24, 2013 #7 Share Posted March 24, 2013 As I recall the Island was one of a few ships that displayed the laps per mile on Promenade deck...2.8/mile.
5326jan Posted March 24, 2013 #8 Share Posted March 24, 2013 As I recall the Island was one of a few ships that displayed the laps per mile on Promenade deck...2.8/mile. Just got of Island. You are exactly right. 2.8 laps on Promenade (deck 7) equals 1 mile. It is well used for walking, but didn't see anyone jogging. It is also closed on Panama Canal day for the lines that attach to the mules.
