What is the RCCL Oasis like compared to EPIC?

I haven't been on the Epic but I was on the Oasis and thought it was fantastic. There is so many options of things to do that I never felt crowded which I know is what some people are concerned about.

I've had the chance to sail on both mega ships and had great experiences on each of them. Oasis is a pretty amazing engineering feat, the ship's width really distinguishes it from other ships. The neighborhoods are designed well and help to separate the areas of the ship making it feel not crowded. Oasis makes great use of outdoor space like in Central Park and the Aqua Theater. Epic is more conventional and feels like a modern version of other cruise ships, like a floating hotel, like Las Vegas in recent times. The room interiors are a personal preference, I liked the offbeat interior scheme. Where it shines are the entertaining options like Blue Man Group and Howl at the Moon. Epic has a fun young vibe, feels a bit more West while Oasis is more Florida family leaning.

I have been on Epic and Allure and loved them both. I agree that Epic had a younger vibe and as a sort of solo cruiser (I was with my teenage daughter), I found I had more fun in the evenings on Epic.

If I were comparing the two, here is how they stack up IMO:

Buffet: Epic (although I liked being able to get a slice of pizza at all hours on Allure)

Dining room: Allure

Crew: Epic's crew seemed to enjoy their jobs more and seemed to interact with the passengers more.

Teen club: Epic

Shows: Both had great shows

Nightlife: Epic

Daytime activities: Allure

Layout: Definitely Allure. As someone else said, RCCL made great use of the space. Other than during the parade, things never seemed crowded. For such a big ship, I always felt like I could get anywhere quickly and easily. I am extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke so I liked that the casino wasn't right in the center of things.

Cabin: Allure

Fitness: The view from the treadmill was much better on Epic but Allure has a good jogging track.

Price: You can get some great deals on Epic, but I still felt Allure was worth what I paid.

Bottom line... you can't go wrong with either one.

I've been on a ship with about 800 passengers. Been on a ship with 2,400 passengers AND I've been on the Epic. I was wondering what its like to be on the Oasis? Anyone been on both of these mega ships??
I have not been on Epic but I can tell you that Oasis never feels crowded...it is one amazing massive ship. The width is extremely noticable when out on the pool decks. You can't believe there are over 6,000 pax on board...the design is brilliant.

We had a great time on both ships but give the edge to the Epic. Could have easily stayed another week on the Epic.

I have sailed Epic, Allure and Oasis.

I would say that based on overall designs of the ships that Oasis comes out a bit ahead of Epic. Royal has done a really fantastic job there and the neighborhood concept really works very well.

I believe that the entertainment on Epic is the best I have seen on any ship...though Oasis (and Allure) have top notch entertainment options as well.

There is one kind of intangible though that makes me like Norwegian and Epic a bit more and that is the way they do Freestyle. To me the people cruising on Norwegian seem to be just a bit friendlier and more relaxed. I think the staffs are that way as well.

All of the ships though are wonderful and great experiences! :)

Thank you everyone for your experience's and opinion's. I really wondered what it would be like on a ship with an additional 1,200 passengers. I didn't care for the Epic overall. I did have a good time, as I was with a large group, plus, I am not one to pound on the negative; rather, enjoy the positive!! Happy crusing!!

PS...I am booked on the Breakaway in a suite...I'm pretty confident that it WILL be awesome!!
