littlesteelo Posted March 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2013 For those who may not have seen, here is a great collection of photos of Ventura in Hamburg, before entering the dry dock and unloading lifeboats, and during the docking process: http://www.madle-fotowelt.de/fotogalerien/schiffe/kreuzfahrtschiffe/ventura.html Note that the photos are in reverse order by date. It will be nice to see what she looks like after the refit. I felt that there were areas in need of some attention back in 2011, so hopefully she will be looking great in a few weeks time. I would imagine they are properly repairing the crack as well, seeing as the current repair is very much a temporary one, consisting of a lot of bolted on bars and plates, and rubber stuff to stop the glass from falling out. MattyBarlow Posted March 27, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2013 She was late going into dry dock. Should have gone in Sunday but didn't get in until 2:00am this morning. The wind and tides were against her so she had to stay at the cruise terminal for a few days.
Libra Sue Lynn Posted March 27, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2013 For those who may not have seen, here is a great collection of photos of Ventura in Hamburg, . Is that the B&V shipyard in hamburg ? I recall early in 2001, I was on the Royal Olympic ship "Voyager" and it had to divert to hamburg for what was described as "Minor" repairs. A lovely port, and a really beautiful city. Have many photos of my few days there, must scan them and post some time. We walked through the tunnell, which seems to go for miles !
