Best Bermuda Cruise for Teens?

I'm sure you'll get 20 different answers each from lovers of their own cruise line. I went with Norwegian Majesty because it's a very small ship, meaning it's hopefully safer than big ships with more people. It docks at St George which is the nice little town. Safe and quiet for teens.

If you go during summer vacation there'll be tons of kids on board for yours to play with - and NCL has themes for each week including cool ones like wildlife.

I'm going in August on the Majesty with three 18 year olds, three 16 yr olds and a 12 yr old.

. . .

I've seen NCL theme's listed, but don't know where it was. I'm wondering what the theme is for the June 26th cruise.

I am sailing on the Voyager to Bermuda on 7/10 with two 16 year old girls so I can let you know when I return. I have a feeling this is the best ship for kids of all ages. 9 years ago we sailed on the Zenith to Bermuda in Oct. and there were only a handful of kids.

There was tons of stuff for children and teens to do on the VOS to Bermuda. I think Explorer goes next year, which is the same size/class ship. It is only a 5 day cruise however.

Just returned from Celebrity Horizon with four teens (14,15,15 and 17). They didn't have any formal activites directed towards teens. Many of the older teens seemed to spend most of their time hanging out by the pool with drinks. As far as I could tell, age restrictions re drinking were not well enforced. Not the best enivronment IMHO.

  • 2 weeks later...

We just got back from Bermuda on the Horizon and had sailed the Voyager 3 years ago. We had three 16 year olds, a 14 yr old, a 12 yr old and an 11 yr old............plus 2 pre-schoolers. Horizon had so much more for the teens to do. We literally never saw our kids except at meal times and to sleep.........of course unless we were touring, etc. Our kids kept later hours then we did, they just checked in with us (and us with them) via the walkie-talkies we brought with us.............A MUST HAVE!!!! Our kids are well-behaved and very trust-worthy, so we had full confidence in the activities they were involved in and how they were behaving.............plus, they are supervised by "counselors" at the activities. Our ship also let 18 year olds in the casino..........but no alcohol was served to them. hope that helps.

Without a doubt the kids would love Explorer of the Seas which is doing the Bermuda run in 2006 out of Bayonne. Between the ice skating rink, miniature golf, Royal Promenade, Johnny Rocketts, etc. They would never run out of things to do. Kids get restless on the smaller older ships. Since I'm not a kid anymore I would choose Zenith myself.

Spitfire,

Thanks for the info. We are leaving on the Horizon Aug 13 and I have a 16yo, plus 2 nieces, 16 and 18. When we did the Golden Princess last summer, they had a great time and met a lot of new friends. I was hoping for the same experience this year. My daughter doesn't drink (at least not when she is around me), and she will check in with me every night, so she knows I keep tabs on her. As long as there are decent kids in the group, I think everything will be ok. :D
