To make phone calls from the ship will cost you around $2.50 a minute

Sending and receiving texts can be done for a lot less, depending on your plan.

Sending and receiving e-mails will cost 75 cents a minute unless you buy a ship's plan, and the price goes down the longer the plan that you buy. A 90 minute plan costs around $50.

The most efficient way to send e-mail is to compose off line, then log on, send your e-mail, and download your new incoming mail, then log off to read and write new e-mails. If you read and write while you are on-line, the minutes tick by, so do as much as you can off-line.

To sign up for the ship's wi-fi, you'll need to go to the computer center. The personnel there will walk you through the procedure.

Do they offer a cheaper wifi package with less minutes? We wouldn't need 90 minutes.

$0.75 cents a minute with no package.

In and Out Package - $24.95 for 38 minutes

In Touch Package - $49.95 for 90 minutes

Informed Package - $99.95 for 208 minutes

Interact Package - $199.95 for 555 minutes

Involved Package - $399.95 for 1666 minutes

Internet is often very slow -- about dial up speed.

You might be surprised. Wifi on board is very, very slow. Remember when you had dial-up service? By all reports, it's slower than that.
