Has anyone ever used the Premier parking lot (not the one right at port) at Bayonne which is about 1.5 miles from port? Any input/thoughts appreciated cuz we are thinking about driving ourselves to port instead of car service. Would save about $75 :) enuf to indulge in my drinks of the day ;)

Thanks in advance.

We were on the 3/15 Ex and parked at the port. Had no problems. We had breakfast with a couple one day and they parked on a remote lot...sorry, do not know which one....and there was an hour 45 min wait for the shuttle to the port from the parking site. The shuttle was limited on the # of people it could take since everyone had all of their luggage.

Just something to consider. We pulled up, dropped off our luggage, parked the car, cleared security and were seated in the departure lounge in less than an hour's time.

Premier does not own any lots. It is a service that takes your reservation, skims off a portion, and delivers the remainder to its local associate that has a parking lot. It disclaims any responsibility for problems with its local associates.

2006 honeymoon....we parked right at the port and it was great!!! I think we paid $110.00 for the 9 day cruise. And they charge as you are coming in so no bill at the end of the cruise!!!

The port price has increased significantly.

We have used them once and would again. As for the reviews, the port has bad reviews for the paint overspray on your car.

  • 9 months later...

We used premier in Nov. 2013 and had no problem. We will be using them again in March 2014.

Two things.

1) Don't get there earlier than 10 am to leave the car or you will wait. They need to clear out the lot from the past cruise before filling up with the next one.

2) Upon return, carry you bags off with express de-embarkation and get to the pick up location ASAP or you will be waiting for a while for a van to take you to your car. This is due to the lack of traffic flow efficiency at the port which creates bottlenecks that delay the vans from getting to the pick up location.

Again, we found it to be a great alternative and with good savings over the pier lot.
