sdpr73 Posted April 3, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2013 Hey there, Next week arrival in Ocho Rios on Carnival Breeze. Doing a day pass at the the all inclusive Beaches Ocho Rios resort ? What is the driving distance/ driving time to the resort (from Ochi pier)? Most importantly what is the taxi cost?
kite5280 Posted April 3, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2013 Sorry I don't have an answer for you. But I'm interested in Beaches. You can get a day pass there? Where did you book your Beaches day pass? We are on Breeze too and have 2 kids and looking for safe, family friendly thing to do.
centurycruiser Posted April 3, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 3, 2013 The fare posted at the pier is $80 each way for 1-4 people. But, you should be able to negotiate a much lower fare. Go into the parking lot, don't talk to the "starters."
sdpr73 Posted April 4, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted April 4, 2013 So how far in regards to time and distance is it from the pier ?
centurycruiser Posted April 4, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 4, 2013 It's been awhile but I believe it was around 1/2 hour. At 40 mph maybe 20 miles???
mrsfuzzmo Posted April 4, 2013 #6 Share Posted April 4, 2013 Yes, Beaches Ocho Rios (Used to be Beache Boscobel) is about 20 minutes from Ocho Rios, so from the pier which is on the other side of Ocho Rios, maybe a half hour at the most. It's a pretty cool place. You have to take an elevator down to the beach! They have a really nice waterpark for kids as well! Biggest one at a resort I think I've ever seen. Rare mitsugirly Posted April 5, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 5, 2013 I'm not sure where you ship docks, but we booked an AI in Ocho Rios and it was basically a 10 minute drive if that to the AI we went to. You could see the ships right there in the water at the beach. It was a great place and the hotel was amazing, food great, so many pools I couldn't even count them all, water slides and just a great day. The transportation was included in the AI pass we bought (for I believe $9). I think I was told it was maybe $6 if we had booked the taxi by ourself but was willing to pay the $9 from the company we booked with just to make sure that everything went smoothly. Here's my review and pictures if you are interested: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=33228671&postcount=
