Which Cruises line is better to NEW BORNS? Price?

Babies must be 6 months old on almost every cruise line....older for trans Atlantic trips. So, technically, there will be NO "new borns" on any cruise!

 

Most lines charge the same rate for children and adults.....of course, the third/forth person in a cabin is usually less than the per person rate for the 1st 2 people.

If you are speaking of a newborn baby.....I don't believe any cruise line accepts newborns. I believe most of them have age restrictions and a child pays the same fare as you.

Not positive, but I believe Disney allows from 3 months old.

The minimum age is 12 weeks for Disney cruises.

 

MSC has no minimum age.

 

Most other cruise lines have a 6 month minimum age. Keep in mind that the reason for these minimums is because ships don't have the medical facilities to treat infants if they get sick. Hospitals are hours away (if you're lucky). Simple procedures like putting in an IV are next to impossible for MD's and nurses who don't have a lot of experience with infants. Ships also wouldn't have the specialized pediatric equipment that infants may require.

And most cruise lines have a 12 month age limit on Transatlanic, Transpacific or cruises longer than 7 days in length because of the distance from land based pediatric facilities.

I would sail a line that incorporates some kind of nursery such as Disney or RCCL so that you are able to have at least a bit of free time. NCL or Carnival do offer activities (playgroups with parent and child) but not babysitting unless its 10pm or later and those of us who have had infants know that when you are up at the crack of dawn with a baby, 10pm is really late to wait until you get some free time. :)
