Norwegian Sky - Port or Starboard

Hello, wanted to find out if it makes a difference which side you are on for the Norwegian Sky four day Bahamas Cruise? I've read reviews that are kind of old that meantion that the chairs on the starboard balconies are nicer with the blue mesh chairs and that portside are cheaper ones...has anyone that has been on this ship recently know if that is true? Also, was there a better side overall? Just wondering...right now I'm booked on the portside but have an opportunity to switch right accross. Also, have the TV's been upgraded to flatscreen yet? I'm looking at cabins 9057 or 9257. Has anyone used either cabin? Pros and cons?

We were on the Sky last May. Blue mesh chairs on our port side balcony.

 

Not aware of the Sky upgrading TV's but a more recent cruiser will undoubtedly chime in!

Good to know. Did you think it mattered what side you were on? Where you happy with Portside?

Most of the staterooms are equipped with old tube Tv, but I found one of the balcony cabin 0219 has flat screen tv.

And I found the starboard side is more likely facing the great stirrup cay where you can watch the island in your balcony when you sail away.

It doesn't really matter what side you are on when going into ports because they change from aft to fore depending on any maintenance or lifeboat drills the staff have to do.

either side is fine. I've been on both. in Nassau sometimes you back in and sometimes you pull in so you never know. not sure on the tv since its been a year since I've been on.

Sky is scheduled for dry dock this fall, so maybe that will even out any differences.

We were on the Starboard side and had blue mesh chairs.

I was on the port side and had a nice view pulling into each port.

 

I also had the blue mesh chairs.

Port side the water moves from right to left. Starboard the water is moving left to right. We always cruised on Port side until last cruise. First few days it was like "Gee, we're going in reverse awfully fast!" :p:D
