Faster to the Fun?

Recommended Posts

  • 1 month later...

My husband and I just got back from our cruise on Carnival Fascination. Even though we are VIFP Gold members, I decided on a whim to purchase Faster To The Fun and I am here to tell you it is one of the BEST $50 I have ever spent on a cruise and one of the smartest options Carnival has come up with yet.

We were treated like absolute royalty from the moment we drove up to the terminal. Once they tagged our bags with the special FTTF icon tags we never waited once - absolute rock star treatment all the way - we were escorted through every line, right to the front, even when it was time to take our picture and get on board.

Carnival has done a great job of training staff on this one - it seemed the crew came to attention whenever they saw the Faster To Fun icon, which in addition to appearing on your luggage tags, also appears on the back of your Sign and Sail card.

Just be sure if you have already printed out your boarding pass before buy Faster To The Fun, that you re-print all of your luggage tags and boarding passes. You definitely WANT that FTTF Icon on everything.

My husband and I could not have been happier about this program. LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!

:D:D:D

I have a question. We are frequent carnival cruisers and this is the first time we get the FTTF. The one reason that I purchased this was to be able to exit the ship early on departure day. It is the one part of cruising that I really dislike. I don't need it to get on the ship early as to I have many friends that work for carnival at the port of Miami that always take care of me. I don't need to get into my cabin early since we don't really bring any carry-ons with us and to be honest we really only go to our cabin to shower and to sleep so we always book an inside lower cabin and spend our savings on other things we enjoy. So the main reason we got it was to get out as soon as we can. So will this help me or did I just waist my money?

On Carnival, unless you have this program, you can't get into your room until 3?? Why so late?

We've always been able to get into our stateroom between 1:15 and 1;30.

But in the interim, all over the ship and buffet, we have had to schlep our carry-ons.

Thsi will be nice to be able to set our stuff in our cabin, and then eat, explore, etc.

This is still a good deal for you IMO. This morning we were finished with breakfast at 8:30am - they called us down to a special waiting area (one of the theaters for FTTF peeps) and we were off the ship, through customs, luggage in hand and in the car headed home at 9:18am. Absolutely hassle-free. :D

That is exactly what I wanted to hear. Thanks

When I go to book it online, for instance, there are 2 people on my booking, it asks that I add at least 1 person in order to book it. When the checkout page comes up it says 1 guest - $49.95. I get that it is for the whole cabin but it's still misleading. Had I not read here first that I can add only 1 person and it be for the whole cabin, would it have charged me for each person had I added each?

We used it last week and I will most deinitely be using it from now on!!! Got on the ship fast and got us on our way to NOLA from Mobile on one of the first buses (I wouldn't say fast though LOL). We also had several things we had to stop by guest services for this trip and it was great not having to stand in that line!!!

Yes they probably would have charged you. I almost did the same thing on one of the excursions through carnival. It shows a per person rate but when you read the description all the way in the bottom it states that 1 ticket is valid for 2 guests. Dicey

It even says $49.95 per Adult when you go to book it. There is no description for FTTF. Crazy.

I agree, the way they have the order form set up right now is confusing. I also almost paid for it twice, but read through it one more time and the $49.95 covers everyone in the cabin. Also went back and printed the original description page to make sure I knew what was included.

Another word of caution - Before I decided to buy FTTF, I had already printed out my boarding pass and luggage tags, then realized I had to reprint them after I purchased it (the FTTF icon appears on both once you have paid.) That icon is what moved us through - even ahead of the VIFP's as far as I could tell. Worth every penny if you ask me. We moved through like rock stars. Never waited in one line (except for breakfast on the Lido deck...) :D

Sorry but I have a silly questions about FTTF and getting into room early. Aren't there doors that close off the room corridors while the stewards are still getting rooms ready? Do you just go through the closed doors to your room if you have FTTP?

Yup - the crew guided us through - opened the big door for us and we went straight to our cabin. It was awesome. Definitely VIP treatment.

On the line with Carnival and she can't figure out if the Valor from San Juan has this program available for July. Does anyone here know the answer? Thanks:)

I am on the Valor in April and the web page excision area has FTTF for sale.

I have a group of 18 going on the Conquest. One of my friends booked adjoining cabins for him and his wife in one cabin and is 8 and 4 yr old in the other. He purchased the FTTF for his cabin only. Is that ok or did he need to purchase for both? We all bought the last 3 and now they are sold out.

According to the description, the FTTF needs to be purchased for EACH cabin, but perhaps you can call and find out for sure.

I just recently returned from my 1st cruise (Carnival Ecstacy) and had the FTTF. I would purchase it again. Worth it in my opinion.

We were in exact same boat! ;) I was advised ALL cabins need a ticket purchased, regardless of ages. They helped add both bookings to my account and easy peasy, just select one name from each cabin.... $99 was still soooo worth it for the 5 of us!

BTW, they also explained the "per Adult/per Child" is a Default on the website page and not configurable. Therefore a 'per cabin", 'per cabana", 'per jeep" all has to be explained in the descriptions. Clunky IMO, but one mystery solved!

My husband and I will be going on our first cruise on August 3rd (Triumph). We are staying in a Ocean Suite which includes VIP check-in. Does that VIP status cover all the benefits of FTTF or should we purchase it also?

I think you'll only get the Priority Boarding with an Ocean Suite. If you want any of the other FTTF perks you'll have to purchase it.

Thank you. I confirmed that with Carnival this morning. Unfortunately, the FTTF is sold out. Too bad we missed out on it!

You will get most of the FTTF benefits, EXCEPT early access to your cabin. I really enjoy the early access and early luggage delivery. When we did Glory, last January, we were on board in less than 20 minutes and our luggage was there in 10 minutes later. We were unpacked and uncorking our champagne in less than 45 minutes from getting out of the taxi.

On our next cruise on Imagination we were Platinum and it was about the same amount of time. If you aren't Platinum, it is IMO worth the price.

For the Platinum folks who complain about the FTTF folks, I have one suggestion. Ignore them.

Take care,

Mike

Thats not true, you don't get luggage faster , priority tenders , vip guest service line or priority dining time. Just early embarkation and debarkation
