Oasis - April 13 - a few observations

Not a full review, but just a few observations (I have been on every class from the Song of Norway up except for Voyager). I went in with low expectations and was surprised by how much I liked the ship.

 

Never really felt crowded except during the muster drill.

Plenty of deck chairs on sea days, but pools were packed.

Food was very good in MDR, as was the service. I think better than the Freedom last year.

Windjammer selection was not quite as good as Freedom.

You could feel movement - more of a shudder than swaying - but I was glad you could feel you were on a ship.

Getting on and off the ship at port was quick - putting security on shore speeds things up.

Dive show was awesome.

No priory disembarkation for Diamond members was disappointing.

Vidalia onion tart no longer on the menu. It's been on there forever, sad to see it go.

 

All in all a great cruise that surpassed my expectations.

I have to agree, we had booked Oasis about 10 months before sailing and did so much reading about it we had HUGE expectations! Oasis met and exceeded all our expectations.

Can't comment on Windjammer as I have to say after 2 cruises on these ships we've never eaten there! Can't wait to try Quantum!

Sailed on the Navigator last month. We did not have vidalia onion tart in the main dining room as an appetizer. However, in the Windjammer it was there at least twice - was on the hot buffet - more like a quiche, but it tasted the same. It was really good!

I miss the vidalia onion tart as well but am also happy with the new menu changes.
