Shore excursion timing

On one of our ports, I have a tour 2.5 hour tour scheduled currently for 8 am. I am debating whether I should switch that to 1:30 pm.

Has anyone had difficulty getting their kids up and out the door by 730 on cruises? On the one hand, we are on vacation and it would be nice to sleep in a bit. On the other hand, I want to make sure we get out the door in time to wander around town before lunch if we go with the later one.

My kids are 9 & 7. Thanks!

I'd take the later one with older kids.

However I just chose the other way around. Excursion at 8:45 instead of 12:30. The difference however is that:

1. we are cruising with a 2 year old and a 5 year old who wake up early in any case and

2. I expect us to still be somewhat on European time (day 4 after our transatlantic flight to the US)

so we will most likely be up quite early in any case. :)

But if I'd have the possibility to sleep in I definitely would. :D

Depends on whether or not your have 'early' kids.

We could have done it with our younger one, not with our oldest.

That being said we always liked the early tours. They don't break up the day.

Gee! I hate being rushed in the morning and even more so when our girls were young and still cruising with us ... so I'd take the later one. It'll take some time to make sure they have something to eat for breakfast.

Whatever, have a great time! :)
