Any suggestions of excursions that you have done with an almost-2 year old? We have been to Alaska twice before, but this is our first with our daughter. We hit Victoria, Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan. Thanks!

I haven't gone with a toddler yet, but we have an 18 month old going with us in June. In Juneau we're taking the shuttle to the Mendenhall glacier and walking to the waterfall, bringing a harness so he can hike too. In Ketchikan we're renting a car and doing a rainforest walk and visiting the tidepools.

Look forward to others' ideas as well.

Best,

Mia

Be sure to also ask about this on the Alaska Ports Of Call Board.

I thought about posting there, but then I thought people might direct me back to this board! :) I will post there as well and see what I get.

Mia- where are you doing the rainforest walk?

We will be leaving next month on our first AK cruise and taking our almost 2 year old. She will be a couple weeks shy of 2 years old. In Juneau we're going whale watching and hiking to Mendenhall, in Ketchikan we're doing the float plane and in Skagway we're doing a Yukon tour. We will have 7 adults and 1 child, so the Juneau tour and Skagway tour will both be private tours. In Ketchikan we're breaking it up: DH and myself on the plane while family watches DD and then we get DD while the rest of the family goes on the plane. We will have a hiking carrier and hopefully she will get naps in the transports to and from the actual tours.

How did whale watching go?
