Sargent_Schultz Posted May 6, 2013 Author #101 Share Posted May 6, 2013 Having just booked Conquest for February, I am really enjoying seeing my "future home!" I got a giggle when I saw they moved the Breeze shows (Divas, Latin Nights, etc) to Conquest. I was looking forward to the "old" Conquest shows. ( Cause i recently sailed on Breeze x2). Quick question: was the aft pool adults only? I was hoping it was, as there is no Serenity area. Thanks for taking the time for another great review with wonderful pictures.:) Playlist Productions, which is on Breeze, is part of Fun Ship 2.0. No adults only pool, it's open season. Sargent_Schultz Posted May 6, 2013 Author #102 Share Posted May 6, 2013 Sagre, We are enjoying your review. Thank you so much for measuring and taking a pic of the door of 9202 for us. Iam sure the sweet lady staying in the room on our roll call appreciates it also. In one of your captions, the one with the Cheers sign, You say the prices will be going up if they havnt already??? Do you know something? I am teatering on the Cheers program for our halloween Cruise and I just want all the facts if you know something. LOL thank you for all the great reviews and pics? I think she found a solution for the chair, because it won't fit with some modification. On a ship or two, the price of the Cheers program has increased to $49.99 (+/-) + tip, it seems. Sargent_Schultz Posted May 6, 2013 Author #103 Share Posted May 6, 2013 The second sea day brought morning tea on the bridge with our friend, Captain La Fauci. Some of the pictures are bad, yet good enough, I think. Mainly because I don't think I'm in any of them. ;)
Sargent_Schultz Posted May 6, 2013 Author #104 Share Posted May 6, 2013 Damn They have a good view from the bridge as a added bonus, Captain Carlo Queirolo was also on board visiting.

Sargent_Schultz Posted May 6, 2013 Author #108 Share Posted May 6, 2013 as always, I just gained 5 pounds looking at your pictures! oh so yummy! so was tea on the bridge because you are Diamond? I hope there are still some tumblers left in July when I make platinum. thanks again for posting your review and pictures!! I have to take food breaks myself. :p Tea was because we are Diamond and that happened to be the Captain's choice. It can vary depending on what the Captain wants and his schedule. As it turned out, we were the only two Diamonds on the cruise. They might have tumblers left. or not. Just depends on when they run out. If you get something different, you can try asking at Guest Services if you could exchange it for a tumbler - they might have a few left laying around. tncap Posted May 6, 2013 #110 Share Posted May 6, 2013 On a ship or two, the price of the Cheers program has increased to $49.99 (+/-) + tip, it seems. This is the case on the Victory as it is the only ship with Cheers not doing 7+ day itineraries.

pe4all Posted May 6, 2013 #116 Share Posted May 6, 2013 Playlist Productions, which is on Breeze, is part of Fun Ship 2.0. No adults only pool, it's open season. Thanks for the reply. We were on Liberty right after 2.0 was put on her - no Playlist Productions. Just the old show. However, Breeze was not "born" yet, so maybe that is why. Guess I'll just skip the shows and hit the casino!:p:D I was surprised they didn't add Serenity to Conquest.
JanLou5 Posted May 6, 2013 #117 Share Posted May 6, 2013 Thanks, Sarge for all of the incredible pictures! Thoroughly enjoying your review! Like PomSaysOm stated, it's fun to see our cruise through someone else's eyes and from a different perspective. Plus, I don't see us ever reaching Diamond status--so it's quite interesting to see the special goodies and events available to Diamond cruisers. Might just be some motivation! nybumpkin Posted May 6, 2013 #118 Share Posted May 6, 2013 Bill - When you sail on Sunshine, could you check the builder's plate to see whether it's the original? I'm assuming it will be the original because the plate relates to hull number and not name, but just curious. (By now you probably know I'm a ship geek.:o) Thanks! kimberleyb1961 Posted May 7, 2013 #120 Share Posted May 7, 2013 As always. thoroughly enjoying your reviews of all things Carnival. If the Halloween cruise works out, I plan to make many, many more trips. I am really enjoying the pictures of the excursions, being in a wheelchair and the fact that the area is centuries old, kind of precludes my being able to visit them, so I love that I can live vicariously through you. Of course, I really love the food porn and you are making me very hungry. Please tell me, is the jalapeno on top of the cheesy grits merely a decoration or does the spiciness flow through to the grits? I love grits, but can't eat anything spicy. Any dishes that you don't expect to be spicy, but are spicy never the less? Thanks for all you do.

They said they were going to add a Serenity but I guess there wasn't enough time. There is room and a place for one and it looks like adults are discovering it. Just missing the comfy furniture. Sargent_Schultz Posted May 8, 2013 Author #124 Share Posted May 8, 2013 when i was on the Conquest last year im think i met he it great captian! Other than periodic vacations, he has been Captain for years going back to when Conquest was in Galveston (those poachers :p). I think he may work about 7 months a year now. Like so many, he has a family that is growing up without him much of the year.

Anything in contact with the jalapeno will have a kick, but it doesn't soak through the cheese. I imagine you could ask them to leave it off or at least try asking. If that fails, just remove it and the cheese that was in contact with it. The tomato soup is a little spicy, don't know if it would be too much. Be sure and let your server know and/or the maitre d' and they should be able to help you decide. They also have just plain grits.
