Does anyone have a ritual...

On ouir first cruise, we made our way to the Lido deck and my kids went straight for the pizza man. They got to know him on a first name basis that cruise... We kind of had a ritual that we would get a a couple slices of DeChevre (goat cheese/mushrooms and caramelized onions) on the first day every cruise. From what I read no more DeChevre - we will have to find a new favorite now, looking forward to the challenge ;).

Other than pizza, we can't wait to meet our cabin steward/stewardess and to go check out our room and get ready for dinner in the MDR.

Funship special all the way!!! You can not simply enjoy your first day without one! We sit by the pool and relax and enjoy being able to not have to worry about work or anything else for that matter!

That you do once you embark? Last year as soon as I embarked I discovered I was mislead by Carnival about our room upgrade and that put a slight damper on my mood for a little bit why I tried to sort it out....hoping for a better start this year.

Our rituals well before embarkation.

When weget Ianthe car to leave for the port mp3 is qued up with "Where the boat leaves from"

Our ritual so far has been sitting in the sun and making friends with the first waiter that serves us. It ends with a bucket of beer, a good tip for him and he takes good care of us the rest of the cruise. I hope to participate more in the sail away party this time.

Soda card first thing. I need my diet cola. Then I'll relax on the Lido with lunch.

After I drop off the carryon, I like to walk the entire ship and see its layout. I don't take the elevators, so it's a good way to work off lunch.

I might add I have a ritual prayer. I pray that my carry-on allowed wine bottle lasts until I can legally go to my room to access my Bon Voyage Bottles!

Just too frugal to put a way too expensive drink on my S&S Card during the week. :)

Head to the room...we're Platinum..try to meet our cabin steward...make sure all our ordered stuff is there....head up to the Lido...lunch...then the walk around the ship...with camera...double check table in MDR...have a drink usually at the casino bar:D Check out the slot machines....WHERE have all the fun nickel machines gone:eek:

Try, try try to get unpacked before dinner..and try to stop fussing at DH....getting on the ship is stressful to me....I'm OCD and he takes the brunt:D

Embarcation day is the most fun...but also the most stressful day:):):)

Look up the atrium, drop my bags, get my drink, and fill up on lunch.

Then get ready for dinner.

Get on the ship, go to deli and get a ruben and then check out the ship. However this time it will be different. This is our first 2.0 ship and platinum so drop bags then Guy's to try their burgers everyone is talking about.

In the past it was always head to the Lido, get the Funship drink, have a reuben, drop off carry onsthen explore the ship and take pictures of the Blue Man in various locations on the ship. Unpack as soon as we can get ito the cabin too or as soon as the luggage arrives.

Going to change this time though, we are leaving on a Sunday and have to work around the football schedule.

Grilled reuben from the deli with a pickle or two on the side. Strawberry Daiquiri during sail away relaxing in any available lounger or chair with a view.

The sandwich is still a must do plan for next cruise, but I may go with a hot chocolate instead of a frozen beverage depending on the weather in Seattle in 3 weeks =)

I try to be one of the first ones onboard since I am platinum. Next head to the cabin to drop off the purse and carry on, then up to Lido for a reuben and funship special. After lunch head down to guest services to have them punch the hole in my sail and sign card so it will go on my Carnival lanyard and be handy from them on. Back to the cabin, unpack, muster, then the sail away on the balcony ! 12 days until the Dream!

Drop the carry-ons at the cabin (I'm Diamond), then head to the Lido for lunch. After that, hit the main pool area for a cool one, and some entertainment, and people watching. About 12:30 or so, go to the dining room to check my table assignment, and make sure it's suitable for evening dinner enjoyment, and fun. ;)

We normally get there when the rooms are ready hate dragging my bags around. So we drop off the carry on bags, meet the room stewart and sk for daily ice for our wine, water, etc, find lunch and order and DOD and thak GOD we are on vacation.
