We are a family of four, parents in mid thirties, kids ages 16 and 9. Did not expect to see most fellow passengers are in their "golden years". Not many people of our age at all. My son (9) enjoyed Kids club a lot and went there every day. There were about 30 kids in his age group (6-9) and he made a few friends. The teen did not have much to do with teen club, said it was lame. She still had met some other teens and had fun.

The weather wasn't good. We had rain every day starting in Seattle until the sun finely came out in Prince Rupert and then it didn't rain anymore, we finally got to swim in outdoor pools and jog on the deck. With so many older people, all the sports equipment was always available, it was great.

Restaurants- Raffles-good and consistent, juice was watered down and only ice tea for lunch. Windows-good food, service was slow, then we just started to ask for express service and it was great. Shogun-not as good as expected, don't order three way Pork, it was pretty bad. Not worth the money for us, as we have plenty of asian restaurants around with better food. Le Bistro-exceptional service, food was pretty good except for veggies came almost raw. Excellent mushroom soup, but pass on the french onion soup-onions were overcooked. Wine -they pour no more than half the glass, in Le Bistro we got no more than 1/3 of the glass. We complained, they mumbled something about their "tall" glasses. Buy a bottle instead.

Shows were good. Nice showers.

I'll post about tours on Alaska board. This is a great destination and we loved it!

More and more families are doing Alaska, but it is still a destination that attracts the older crowd. Several years ago, about 6 our granddaughter, then 13 was one of only about 3 on the entire ship under whatever. She did have a blast and says it's the best cruise she has taken, but missed the inter action with peers and had never been on a cruise that had a section in the show room set aside for the physically disabled; she has never seen one since, nor have we.
