Just back from the Jewel and DH and I are both lucky. He plays tables and I videopoker, so the points dont stack up well for us. But - we received freedrink cards (we boooked thru CAS) and that was it onboard. I called CAS to see what discount we qualify for on future cruises and it is 20%, even though the chart shows that is the hot level. Go figure - im not complaining.

I also called immediately after getting off a cruise to see what I would qualify for and was told 20%. Found this hard to believe as had never gotten lower than oceanview comp. Waited awhile and was given best mini suite. Maybe it takes awhile for info to get into computers.

Went from lucky ( just shy of needed points from last cruise) to hot while there Got free dinner with wine but none of the other perks (did have drink card on boarding) Dinner seems to be the only difference between those 2 levels. Did have most of our other charges comped from final bill also

I went on the Sawyer Glacier cruise on the Jewel last week and was a little surprised at the new system. I used to be a Platinum Tier player under the old system and cruised on the Star in March and got all the benefits. I was a little surprised to find that my tier had been reset to the lowest "Lucky" tier with no benefits aside from the "House" free drink card but is all I really need anyway! :-) I can't speak to how quickly the play ratings/statistics are updated, but I was able to book a free cruise today, but it was only based on my play from March and not last week where I was still at the "Lucky" level at the end of the cruise.

In the end, I think it's easier to move up the tiers (like any land-based casino) for slot players since it's easier to quantify your gaming "value" to the casino and table games players have to wait a little until the numbers are crunched and just have to ask the host for things, which most of us are accustomed to doing anyways!
