Recommended Posts

Boarded today in Dubai..had three days pre cruise.. excellent

Got a lot of tips om Ricardo. and will try to continue, sorry not got his eloquence or savvy in down loading photos,

Joined ship today

So far...

Boarding.. very quick and efficient.

Cabin.. (7296 balcany) as descibed on the can, no complaints

Pre booked packages.. booked: premium drinks, wine pakage, water package juice package, spacialist restaurants and four trips, plus romance package for Mrs Throast

Premium Drinks Package.. being a good Scotsman.. value for money is important.. so far so good. ( sousa(s) the big guy in Winjammers was great in explaining it)

Romance Package.. Wife delighted, flowers, champagne cakes, dressing gowns etc.. all deliver on time.

Probs.. Although we booked the drinks package on line, stickers werent on our cards, thus an hours wait at guest services.

2. Key wasn't working .. (mines wifes as fine) another hour wait at guest services..

Internet.. this report has cost me nearly $10 to send??? no further comment

Questions welcome but answers may be sporadic

Regards, Throast

More probs with card,,, back to guest services again as card not working AGAIN, now spent three and a half hours out of the first eight hours in guest services queue!!

Dinner in main restaurant was actually very good, service A1 (rudolpho), back to champagne bar..rusty is a nutter.. Great fun..then a visit to cigar bar for a Cohiba...

Having done Silver Seas in October, we have been presently surprised by RC.. ( except for problems.. They have an issue with fixing problems..ie four visits to guest services to get card fixed ..

We arrived in Goa this afternoon, presently sitting on a beautiful beach watching the sun go down .

The cruise has gone well to date, have met some nice folks. The main news is the changes on board. The night club is closed and we've been told that its been altered into a casino , also advised that all the bars on the promenade are closing and being changed to shops , all for the Chinese market. This morning they changed the notices in our bathroom to Manderin. (I thought last nights whiskey had affected my eye sight)

Quick summery on pre bought packages

Romance package....very nice, flowers, dressing gowns and champagne in cabin on arrival , chocolates and appetisers on formal nights, framed photo etc.

Premium drinks package ....worth every penny to us, cost wise and convienance wise. Virtually everything included (some very top shelf not ie:30yr old single malt) friends had premium package for Mrs and beer package for Mr.

Wine package... We took the 12 bottle deal , good selection of wines but still bought others not on lists.

Water package.... 12 I litre bottles delivered to cabin, far cheaper pre ordering, it's five dollars a bottle on board.

Juice package... It's okay, does what it says on the can

Over all its been a1, Cuddy is cruise director and he,s been outstanding. Chops restaurant last night, exceptional.

Cuddy is cruise director, but I think he leaves the ship in Singapore, and a cruise director that speaks Chinese takes over. Last night was a 70s night on the promanade, surprisingly good, shows on in the savoy most nights , dancing in the schooner and the wig, recent films shown outside and in every night, different bars with different thinks on most nights, plenty to do during the day too.

First excursion....total rip off.. What was advertised was a day at a five star resort with beautiful beach and pools , all inclusive drinks and high tea... What we got is a stunning beach, ore like a three star hotel, 30 loungers for 120 people, high tea was chips, veg burger or non veg burger(no idea what's in it) cakes served buffet style with flies in abundance, a beer and a Malibu and coke cost me 17 bucks!!!!

Everyone couldn't wait to get back to the ship...
