JimAOk1945 Posted May 22, 2013 #4 Share Posted May 22, 2013 Good start to your review. I'm looking forward to reading more. We sailed on the Mariner twice and enjoyed both cruises.
Throast Posted May 24, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted May 24, 2013 We arrived in Goa this afternoon, presently sitting on a beautiful beach watching the sun go down . The cruise has gone well to date, have met some nice folks. The main news is the changes on board. The night club is closed and we've been told that its been altered into a casino , also advised that all the bars on the promenade are closing and being changed to shops , all for the Chinese market. This morning they changed the notices in our bathroom to Manderin. (I thought last nights whiskey had affected my eye sight) Quick summery on pre bought packages Romance package....very nice, flowers, dressing gowns and champagne in cabin on arrival , chocolates and appetisers on formal nights, framed photo etc. Premium drinks package ....worth every penny to us, cost wise and convienance wise. Virtually everything included (some very top shelf not ie:30yr old single malt) friends had premium package for Mrs and beer package for Mr. Wine package... We took the 12 bottle deal , good selection of wines but still bought others not on lists. Water package.... 12 I litre bottles delivered to cabin, far cheaper pre ordering, it's five dollars a bottle on board. Juice package... It's okay, does what it says on the can Over all its been a1, Cuddy is cruise director and he,s been outstanding. Chops restaurant last night, exceptional. wales4ever Posted May 24, 2013 #6 Share Posted May 24, 2013 We join in Singapore. Can you give us some info on entertainment please?
Throast Posted May 24, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted May 24, 2013 Cuddy is cruise director, but I think he leaves the ship in Singapore, and a cruise director that speaks Chinese takes over. Last night was a 70s night on the promanade, surprisingly good, shows on in the savoy most nights , dancing in the schooner and the wig, recent films shown outside and in every night, different bars with different thinks on most nights, plenty to do during the day too. Throast Posted May 24, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted May 24, 2013 First excursion....total rip off.. What was advertised was a day at a five star resort with beautiful beach and pools , all inclusive drinks and high tea... What we got is a stunning beach, ore like a three star hotel, 30 loungers for 120 people, high tea was chips, veg burger or non veg burger(no idea what's in it) cakes served buffet style with flies in abundance, a beer and a Malibu and coke cost me 17 bucks!!!! Everyone couldn't wait to get back to the ship...
