Tampa after the cruise?"

Hi there,

My family is planning a cruise this November aboard the Inspiration out of Tampa. Our flight doesn't leave until around 7pm. I know there is an aquarium near the port - is this somewhere we can spend the entire day, or are there other things nearby as well? Keep in mind we have kids with us... Also, is there anywhere we can store our luggage? I would hate to have to lug it around all day. THANKS!!

Your best bet is to rent a car and have a day in fun, maybe beach it that is if you get off the boat early. A car can be rented for as little as 25 dollars per day. Busch Gardens is close and so are the malls. Also where the ship docks at Chanelside they have an imax theatre with kids movies generally to kill some time.

Definitely rent a car so u can store your stuff and I say go to busch gardens..call alamo and ask for the tampa airport location which is only 15 minutes away from port.

hope this helps

When you get off the ship--Dont rush off-- take your time with breakfast- be one of the last few off. youwill find its about 10:30 hadly any luggage to wade through .. then go down the escalator there will be a toursit booth. They can direct you to where to store your luggage. The aquarium is directly acorss the street. (get discount tickets at that tourist booth) there is a shopping center located there also-- so you can grab something to eat before heading to the airport.

We just got off the Miracle on Sunday and had a 5:30 flight. We stored our luggage at the Pier for $15. You can keep your luggage there until 4:00. When you get off the ship and find your luggage, ask the porter where to store your luggage and they will take you there. The storage room is right next door to where you come out from getting off the ship. We were in no hurry to get off the ship so we stayed on until after 10:00. You will need to be out of your cabin by 9:30. We were going to take the trolley over to Ybor but I was not feeling too well, so we opted to go to a movie at Channelside ( which is at the dock) then we ate a late lunch and shopped around. If you do go to the Aquarium, they will store your luggage for free.

Also, If you want to rent a car, you can rent one at the place you store your luggage.

How is the Aquarium? I will be traveling in April with to 18 yr olds and a 12 yr old. Looking for something to do the day before the cruise, maybe the day we get off depending on our flight.

Thanks!

Happy Cruising,

Donna
