Winter 2013/14 pre-booked packages - full list in GBP and notes

Firstly credit to Daffydd via northerncomfort16 for the original list. As ever with MSC, the original was somewhat chaotic and hard to understand. I have organised it for my own ease of reference and thought I would share the result here. The list is divided into seven sections. My notes follow but the most important is that many of these are not available in certain regions - these are starred. Also, according the logic of the original, only no. 7 (Kosher meals) is available in/to/from South Africa. I do not know if anyone can shed any light on this as it would seem very restrictive.

1. FORFAIT FOR INDIVIDUALS & GROUPS

 

CHEERS ADULT: BOTTLED WINE, MINERAL WATER, DRAFT BEER & SOFT DRINKS AT LUNCH AND DINNER - per person /day GBP 13

Unlimited consumption of a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including bottled wine (possible selection between 2 white, 2 red and 1 rosé house brands), mineral water, draft beer and soft drink during lunch and dinner. Treatment is valid in the main onboard restaurants and the self-service buffet. Not valid in à la carte restaurants. Extended to ALL CABIN OCCUPANTS (ENTIRE FAMILY) or to ALL GROUP MEMBERS

 

CHEERS CHILD: SOFT DRINKS & MINERAL WATER - per person /day GBP 7

Unlimited soft drinks and mineral water during lunch and dinner. Treatment is valid in the main onboard restaurants and the self-service buffet. Not valid in à la carte restaurants. Extended to ALL CABIN OCCUPANTS (ENTIRE FAMILY) or to ALL GROUP MEMBERS

 

2. ALL-INCLUSIVE

 

*ALLEGRISSIMO ADULT ALL INCLUSIVE 24 HOURS - per person /day GBP 18

Unlimited consumption of a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including wine by the glass (white, red, rosé and sparkling chosen from the “Allegrissimo Selection”), draught beer, soft drinks, mineral water, hot drinks and a wide selection of drinks and cocktails from the bar list, as well as take away ice-cream in a cone or cup. The drinks included in package can be consumed in all bars and restaurants, including the à la carte restaurants and themed venues. The service will be carried out by pouring method. *ALLEGRISSIMO CHILD ALL INCLUSIVE 24 HOURS - per person /day GBP 9

Unlimited consumption of soft drinks, mineral water, fruit juices, hot drinks, virgin cocktails, smoothies and milkshakes, as well as take-away ice-cream in a cone or cup. The drinks included in package can be consumed in all bars and restaurants, including the à la carte restaurants and themed venues. This service can be sold only TO CHILDREN 3-18 YEARS who are part of the group/family with package all-inclusive 431. Not included in this offer: alcoholic drinks, cigars, cigarettes, champagne, mini bar, room service, souvenir glasses and all food on payment. Some of the drinks from our bar and wine lists are excluded from Allegrissimo package; those items are indicated with”asterisk”.

 

ALLEGRISSIMO PREMIUM ADULT ALL INCLUSIVE 24 HOURS - per person / day GBP 33

Unlimited consumption of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including wine (from the“by the glass” menu), draught and bottled beer, soft drinks, mineral water, hot drinks and all drinks from the bar (including champagne cocktails, single malt whiskies, superior brandies and other premium spirits), drinks from your mini bar (except on MSC Melody) and mineral water in your cabin, as well as all items from the ‘Gelateria’ menu and Pastry Shop and food from the Room Service menu.The drinks included in package can be consumed in all bars and restaurants, including the à la carte restaurants and themed venues. The service will be carried out by pouring method. The package must be booked before the cruise by all guests occupying the same cabin, belonging to the same booking number and by all guests booked under different bookings' numbers but travelling together and wishing to eat at the same table. ALLEGRISSIMO PREMIUM TEENS/CHILDREN ALL INCLUSIVE 24 HOURS - per person / day GBP 17

Unlimited soft drinks from the bar (including energizers, fruit juices, mineral water, hot drinks, virgin cocktails, smoothies and milkshakes), non-alcoholic drinks and snacks from your minibar (except on MSC Melody) and mineral water in your cabin, as well as all items from the ‘Gelateria’ menu and Pastry Shop and food from the Room Service menu. The drinks included in package can be consumed in all bars and restaurants, including the à la carte restaurants and themed venues.

 

3. WINE CARNETS

 

*WATER PACKAGE - EUROPEAN - GBP 21

14 bottles of mineral water 100cl. Vouchers can be consumed at any bar, restaurant and buffet

 

*ALLEGRO N°1 - WINE & WATER - GBP 55

4 bottles of unlisted wines selected by our sommelier (1 white + 2 red + 1 rosé) + 7 bt of mineral water. Drinks included in this package can be consumed in main restaurant, self-service buffet and in bars. The unfinished bottles of wine ordered at your dining table in main restaurant will be carefully conserved and served the next day, while for those ordered at self-service buffet or at the bar the custody cannot be provided.

 

*WINE PACKAGE CLASSIC - GBP 91

6 bottles of DOC wines (2 whites, 3 reds, 1 rosé) completed by 7 bottles of mineral water. This package can only be consumed in the main restaurants, where we will carefully conserve your unfinished bottles of wine and ensure they are waiting for at your dining table the next day.

 

*WINE PACKAGE PREMIUM - GBP 126

6 bottles of high quality wines (2 whites, 3 reds, 1 rosé) completed by 7 bottles of mineral water. This package can only be consumed in the main restaurants, where we will carefully conserve your unfinished bottles of wine and ensure they are waiting for at your dining table the next day.

 

*WINE PACKAGE SELECT - GBP 182

6 bottles of sommelier selection wines (1 champagne, 1 white, 4 reds) completed by 7 bottles of mineral water. This package can only be consumed in the main restaurants, where we will carefully conserve your unfinished bottles of wine and ensure they are waiting for at your dining table the next day.

Notes

1. Prices are in GBP but you can expect exactly the same availability with similar prices converted to USD or EUR (with the exception of a free water 'carnet' for bookings made in North America).

3. All-inclusive rates have fallen by around 10% from last Winter.

 

4. Under Cabin Packages, there are three options to pay for a Captain's welcome letter and invitation to VIP cocktails. Blatant 'cash for access'! The best value of these to my eye also offers a bottle of bubbly and canapes on embarkation and fresh fruit basket everyday for £35. Just the daily fruit basket is listed at £29 so that £6 difference goes a long way.

 

5. It is now possible to pay for an in-cabin deluxe continental breakfast (£9 for two people) which comes with freshly-squeezed orange juice, a 320g speciality cheese plate and 80g Parma ham! It is a shame I can't buy a carnet of these.

 

6. Now that MSC buffets have moved to 20 hours per day opening times, I wonder if this gives the Cheers package greater value than before?

Tim .... When you say Caribbean in the top of the quote regarding Allegrissimo not being available i take that to mean for sailings from the USA ?

 

We have the package booked for our Grand voyage/T.A. which of course goes via the Caribbean to Miami in November.

The exact MSC wording for the availability of non-premium Allegrissimo is:

So, it looks like you can have the package because your cruise departs from the Med. If it were going the opposite direction then it looks like it would not be available. This is supported by my experience of two MSC TAs. Going to Brazil from the Med the ship was in Euro mode and all packages were available. Coming to the Med from Brazil, the ship was in Brazillian mode and no all-inclusive packages were (officially) available.
