1stime cruiser Posted May 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 30, 2013 Good Afternoon, Just had a question. I check Carnival.com daily for price drops because I book early saver(I know I am crazy) but I also check "My Special Offers" under the VIFP tab. I never see any offers for me. I am wondering if anyone else has and if they have what were the offers?

soccersharon Posted May 30, 2013 #4 Share Posted May 30, 2013 Someone reported yesterday that they were given a free cruise (just paid taxes etc.). You bet I'll keep checking from now on! 1stime cruiser Posted May 30, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted May 30, 2013 Someone reported yesterday that they were given a free cruise (just paid taxes etc.). You bet I'll keep checking from now on! Here's the thread: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1852987 If I am not mistaken they were also heavy casino players and that had something to do with it. MY question (and I am not complaining) is what about people who are cruise often and don't spend so much money in the casino.
xostacylee Posted May 30, 2013 #6 Share Posted May 30, 2013 I only have the "past guest" option.. but I'm not a past guest haha. Not yet!
Vitamin_Sea Posted May 30, 2013 #7 Share Posted May 30, 2013 If I am not mistaken they were also heavy casino players and that had something to do with it. MY question (and I am not complaining) is what about people who are cruise often and don't spend so much money in the casino. They want people who LOSE...OPPS, I mean play a lot of money to come back and spend even MORE! So that free cruise they give is actually paid for in the casino. wiskt Posted May 30, 2013 #8 Share Posted May 30, 2013 I'm one of those winners of a FREE CRUISE and only had to pay for the tax/port fees. I wouldn't say I gamble much (Slots) and have usually WON or at least came out even each cruise. My PVP told me they are completely RANDOM with the offers... Keep checking I think its just luck of the draw. With my cruise my PVP actually called me to tell me I was eligible.
hockeyluver Posted May 30, 2013 #9 Share Posted May 30, 2013 nothing for me either, and i also gamble a wee bit too much :p never had a casino offer either. But I do get my free drinks card :D
bingomamma19 Posted May 30, 2013 #10 Share Posted May 30, 2013 If I am not mistaken they were also heavy casino players and that had something to do with it. MY question (and I am not complaining) is what about people who are cruise often and don't spend so much money in the casino. I am the poster that got the free cruise--however, I am not a heavy gambler (at least not in comparison to what I see--about $150 per day is what I budget/spend). If thats all it takes to get me a free cruise--you bet I am happy about it. I believe it was more random than anything else though--Because it doesnt seem I would be a big profit to them. I have earned the free drinks card while playing (and I am not really a drinker-so not much of a benefit to me), but that is about it (oh yeah and some free strawberries). I havent even spent enough to actually cover what they are comping me for this cruise ($929 x2 people in a balcony). I have never received such an offer before, and probably never will again--I will consider it a great one time deal. But to the OP, I always look under my VIFP specials and there are usually just their normal sale offers listed there, it was only this past Tuesday that this play and stay offer was listed too. Is your VIFP number in the box, because there should be their regular sales there at least. And you never know, maybe you will get lucky enough to get one of these offers too. cruizinisthebest Posted May 30, 2013 #11 Share Posted May 30, 2013 I've never seen anything either. And I checked twice since I saw that thread yesterday. :D If they only come as a result of playing in the casino, then I guess I'll never get one. That's one part of the ship I can totally do without. If I gamble $20, I'm splurging!
PSkinner Posted May 30, 2013 #12 Share Posted May 30, 2013 I have never seen anything on mine but DH has had one on his. Not sure why one of us and not the other. Nothing really special though.

Kangapong Posted May 31, 2013 #14 Share Posted May 31, 2013 Other than"Past Guest"deals on select cruises, I don't get anything worthwhile. Now that I know there is a possibility of getting a"free" cruise offer, I'll check more often.
