LOL :D Everybody here is a contributor just by being part of the on-going discussion. :) Have they added another port to your sailing yet? I had to cancel mine for March but will book another sometime soon on one of them.

Tall-Cruiser Posted September 24, 2014 #3881 Share Posted September 24, 2014 The hull of Anthem of the Seas is completed. Unbelievable... It is "Unbelievable" and to imagine that only few weeks ago she was in two mega floating blocks with other blocks waiting in Hall 6. And now the block assembly is complete. Very, very efficient I would say.
Overtyme Posted September 25, 2014 #3882 Share Posted September 25, 2014 Simply amazing !! Moving right along not missing a beat, so we will be all glued to watching her do the conveyance What does the rest of the shipyard schedule look like for Anthem? Also, when does Quantum III (Ovation???) build get underway and what does that schedule look like? I'll check the other forums to answer my unrelated questions about the status of the Oasis III and IV :D
jjlabre Posted September 25, 2014 #3883 Share Posted September 25, 2014 Is it just me or does no one see an anchor? How do they go to sea without the anchors. In the at dock pictures, no anchors are seen either. She looks great out at sea. Photo by Dennie Gaasendam
Tall-Cruiser Posted September 25, 2014 #3884 Share Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) Is it just me or does no one see an anchor? How do they go to sea without the anchors. In the at dock pictures, no anchors are seen either. She does not have an anchor installed right now but she does have one. Maybe it will be installed soon. They could have left if off due to weight but I am not sure. A few pages back there are photos of the chain and anchor on the dock floor while she was in the building dock. By the way some of the new ships can stay in one place without an anchor using GPS. You will see this practice in areas were ships are not allowed to drop anchor. I recall being on Mariner OTS and the Captain talked about it. Edited September 25, 2014 by Tall-Cruiser
CroNich Posted September 25, 2014 #3885 Share Posted September 25, 2014 In port at Eemshaven. The boat actually looks quite small here (or is that person just quite large).

In the at dock pictures, no anchors are seen either. These black boxes are the back sides of the anchors. The anchors are integrated into the hull. They were installed at the yard and are already tested there. Edited September 25, 2014 by MasterSchnief

That was one of the things I remembered from the bridge tour:D

Guys in all seriousness this perspective is messing with me. See the people below 270 who would be as close to the camera as the man on the wharf yet at least half the size. Lloyd555 Posted September 25, 2014 #3892 Share Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) I am assuming that this is the Windjammer. Here is a photo from the NDR.de visit from a while back. The crew onboard is getting good use of it now. Edited September 25, 2014 by Lloyd555

tls1012 Posted September 25, 2014 #3894 Share Posted September 25, 2014 Wow I just went into Cruise Mode while viewing those pictures, Thank You Lloyd. Jonathan You aren't the only one. I have exactly 100 days until I'm stepping foot on her and let me tell you. I've NEVER wanted winter to come so badly in my life so I can cruise again. I'm just praying that we don't get a storm the day we drive down. But then again, this is New England. If you don't like the weather, just wait 15 minutes. papcx Posted September 25, 2014 #3898 Share Posted September 25, 2014 Found a better photo of the hole for the anchors. Oh dear, the paint work is chipped. If I was RC I wouldn't accept delivery in that state :D

MasterSchnief Posted September 25, 2014 #3900 Share Posted September 25, 2014 Oh dear, the paint work is chipped. If I was RC I wouldn't accept delivery in that state :D The question: is it low quality paint or a hull design failure that the anchors scratch the surface? And since we can't change on Anthem, it needs to be changed on Ovation ;)
