From the corporate point of view

musicians are expensive things to own and run.

 

You have to house them (that takes up valuable room)

you have to feed them - and worst of all you have to PAY them! :cool:

 

I don't think they have any other duties on board other than to make music

so you might see how CCL reckons their Corp. could save a decent chunk of change

by cutting them out of the payroll picture!

 

I'm surprised they've lasted this long actually.

For what it's worth, the Liberty has the 2.0 upgrades and a live orchestra (at least of of the 5/25 sailing). :D

 

I guess we'll see what's left on the Freedom in about two months.

So how many of you who are complaining about not having the live music have actually sent your concerns to Carnival direct rather than airing your opinion on CC? You might get just a little more traction by letting Carnival know your concerns.

Last I read on John Heald's blog, the beards were looking into live music again on the lido and other areas because of the complaints. So, we will see what happens.

 

Indeed. While he's not perfect, John seems to appreciate the value of live music and I give him kuddos for that. You would expect that from someone who's been in the cruise ship entertainment business for as long as he has had an up close view of the before and after.

The Splendor im April had am orchestra. Also had plenty of live music and comedy shows.

Are people confusing live music with musicians with a duo singing to a taped track on a fancy computer system? Because that is what we had a lot of a couple of years ago on the former Destiny.
