Just Wondering...

I know CCL's pools and hut tubs are not available 24 hours.

How many of you would take those late nights dips/swims if they were to change this???

I know I would. I think this would be a great add-on benefit. Am I alone on this?

Really? What do you have against the late night swims or soaks in the hot tub? I think this would be a great extra perk...
Personally, if it's something you want to do that's great, for me there are just so many other things to do after dinner that I wouldn't consider it a perk.

This is one of the great things on Princess - midnight, or very early am hot tubs! I think this would be great on Carnival, but not as practical since they are not freshwater pools like on Princess. The saltwater needs to be drained every 24hours, and filtered differently because of the saltwater. Freshwater can be filtered constantly, and only needs to be drained in an emergency (glass, child accidents, etc...).

We have cruised with Carnival nine times. On every single comment card at the end of the cruise, I ALWAYS complain about them closing the last hot tub at midnight. It drives me nuts. I think they should leave them open into the wee hours, then drain and clean them for morning.

We used to enjoy late dining, but changed our preference to main seating a few years ago specifically for this reason. After dinner and a show, my husband and I love to sit in the hot tub under the stars. The deck is usually quiet then and no kids are running around. With main dining we have time to do this. With late dining, we just don't.

And this could be precisely the reason they are closed! They know how hard some of us party. We might find you at the bottom of the pool the next morning! :D

How late are the pool and tubs available?

The pools are not open late at all... close probably around 8ish? There is generally one hot tub open late, but not very late.

If the hot tubs WERE open 24 hours, you would likely never be able to get in one (wow, similar to during the day huh??? LOL) for all the kids would take them over.

Bsan1221 - I agree with you... I love them in the wee hours after clubbing...

We're adults, we should be able to manage to avoid drowning... :)

Bardgal - Actually, RCI has saltwater pools as well. They clean them daily. but they always leave at least one pool and two hotubs up and running while they clean the others and then they switch.

dms_cruises04 - I agree, there are many other better things to do after dinner. But, I was referring to the wee hours (midnight - on ) after the dancing and shows have stopped.

Rock on - it's vacation...

RCI - what a great idea! Carnival should do this.

As for after dinner.... that's sometimes the best time for pool/hot-tubbing since everyone is at the shows, dancing, or in the casino, you mostly have them all to yourselves! :D
