That would explain the Navigator switch to Simona in Feb.

I still don't have that sorted out, because both John Blair and Simona have stated that they would be the CD in Feb. Also, Simona's date doesn't coincide with the day the ship returns from drydock.

 

I would really appreciate if anyone who can find out more conclusive info, and dates, from either John, Simona, or the activities staff on NV.

Hi Donna, I just got contact with Dave Chapman ON Facebook. He is no longer with RCCL. He said he is taking a break for a while and going to another company. He will be missed. He was a good cruise director

Adventure OTS - Drew Devine started on August 4 until January 19, then Mercedes Lafuente.

 

Allure OTS - Ken Rush Nov 24 until sometime in February, then Allan Brooks. (need handover date)

 

Anthem OTS - Richard Spacey will be taking the ship out, with Ken Rush helping him with behind the scenes CD duties to provide a smooth take out. They will likely remain onboard for 6-8 weeks. Then, Joff Eaton will take over as regular CD of this ship.

 

Brilliance OTS - Clo O'Connor November 23 until January 24, then Steve Davis from January 24 until the end of May

 

Enchantment OTS - John Blair from November 8 through January 10, then Marc Walker January 10 for approx 4 months. (Then, will John be returning for another 2 month fill-in?)

 

Explorer OTS - Leigh Xuereb October 5 until February 9, with Erky as his Activities Manager. (Then, will John Blair be returning for another 2 month fill-in, followed by Leigh for another 4 months?)

 

Freedom OTS - Mike Hunnerup from December 22 through mid-late February. Richard Spacey expects to be back on Freedom for one more contract mid-to-late February until mid-to-late June before heading over to Germany to prepare for Quantum, then to prepare for Anthem, then to prepare for Oasis III.

 

Grandeur OTS - Jeffery Arpin from November 26 through mid-to-late January. Ricky Matthews will return in January for 4 months. (handover date?) (Daryl Dyball is Activities Manager)

 

Independence OTS - Joff Eaton November 2 to the end of March (exact date?). Joff will be returning on May 17 through Sept 2014 (Fill-in for April and May 2014 not yet known).

 

Jewel OTS - Carly Boileau started Sept 7 Through January 11 then Dennis Charles from January 11 until March 15. Then Carly returns on March 15 for 4 months, followed by Dennis for 2 months.

 

Legend OTS - Keith Williams started Sept 30 until January 24. Paul Rutter January 24 until March 17. Topi Ylönen starts on March 17 for the 2014 European Season

 

Liberty OTS - Rich Edwards Oct 6 until Feb 10, then Amy Fickert until April 27

 

Majesty OTS - Jerome Sueur started December 6 until Mitch Merucci returns from his break in mid-February (need handover date)

 

Mariner OTS - Dan Whitney started in early September until January 20. Gordon Whatman begins January 20 for 7 weeks (until March 10?) (Rob is the Activities Manager)

 

Navigator OTS - Ship returns from drydock on Feb 5, and we have conflicting info regarding who will be the CD. Simona Ferraiuolo starting February 16? Or, John Blair, who has said that NV will be his next ship?

 

Oasis OTS - Jimmy Rhodes November 16 until March 8. Then, Drew Devine March 8 through May 17. Then, Rico duBriel May 17 through July 19. Then Drew Devine July 19 through mid-November.

 

Quantum OTS - Richard Spacey will be taking the ship out, with Ken Rush helping him with behind the scenes CD duties to provide a smooth take out. They will likely remain onboard until early January 2015, then Jimmy Rhodes will take over as regular CD of this ship.

 

Radiance OTS - Amy Fickert began on November 16 until Feb 3 (who will be her replacement?)

 

Rhapsody OTS - Ken Jones Nov 19 through Feb 1. Graham Seymour returns from his break on Feb 1 for 6 months through August 1 (per Graham: Ken is a Canadian gent, funny, great stage presence)

 

Serenade OTS - Topi Ylönen November 25 until March 16, then Anthony Richards.

 

Splendour OTS - João Pereira started Dec 8 for the South American season

 

Vision OTS - Rico du Breil for the Panama season, Nov 11 through April 26

 

Voyager OTS - Luke Aerowsmith October 24 for the repositioning and for the Australian season. Lixin Fang is expected to return for the Asian season

 

 

PS: Dave Chapman has left RCCL. He is taking an extended break, and then he will be moving over to another cruiseline.

That was John Blair (not Dave) who was originally scheduled for NV after drydock.

I've also heard from someone that works on a completely different ship that John Blair may be made permanent on that ship. Timing with the cd currently on the ship would work. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Does anybody know where Bobby Brown & Bec have gone? Had them as CD on Rhapsody & Radiance and they were fantastic. Was told by a crew member from the Radiance in Sydney last week that they were no longer on the ship. Sad.

They were on Radiance through early November, and they are on their break now.

 

We are waiting to hear when/where their next assignment will be. (It has been confirmed that it will be a different ship than Radiance). It should be soon, as breaks are generally 8-10 weeks long.

this info was from 2 different crew members that we had seen on previous cruises, but frankly I'd be happier to hear that it's all incorrect as B&B were fantastic.

How far in advance do they announce which CD will be on each ship? Is there a way I can find

out who the CD will be on the LotS at the beginning of June?

This info isn't "announced". It is reported to this thread by cruisers who find out on the ships by speaking to the CD's and activities staff. Sometimes CDs know their assignments several months in advance (especially if they are regular CDs on a ship, in a regular rotation), and other times, they find out a few days in advance (and we find out when someone on a cruise comes here and tells us about the CD change). Also, CD's get shuffled around at a moment's notice, so all this info can change in a flash.

 

I assume by LOTS, you mean Liberty and not Legend. Rich Edwards has been that ship's regular CD for sometime, doing 4 months on the ship followed by 2 months off. Amy is scheduled to fill-in during Rich's break until April 27. Chances are strong that Rich will be back at that point for another 4 month contract. That is my best guess at this time.

I was on the cruise in Oct-Nov when Bobby was away and then returned part way through. Two things I noticed, one was that there was no photo on the staff board in the centrum for the activities director (usually Becky) but Bobby's photo was there the whole time as cruise director. The other was that on the final night concert, during the standing ovation for the crew, he looked a wee bit teary.

Both would be very much missed should they not return to Radiance. Just a fabulous crew on that ship.

His personality is big ship all the way. I thought he was wonderful.

 

Graham posts to this thread from time to time. He said that 3 years is the limit for a CD to stay on the same ship, so when his 3 years on Freedom came to pass, he requested to be placed on a smaller ship with a more exotic itinerary for a change of pace.

That's interesting. Wonder what the reasoning is behind that rule. Anyone know how long Joff Eaton has been on Independence for?
