Is Steve Davis new to Royal? I haven't heard anything about him and see he is my upcoming CD on Brilliance.

 

He's been around for a while, on Mariner, Serenade, and on Brilliance (for the transatlantic) to name a few.

 

If you google "Steve Davis cruise director" you'll get a lot of hit to reviews (which seem very favorable) and to youtube clips.

He's all right. *shrug*

 

I'm my Brilliance cruise he wasn't very visible except when he was doing his Michael Jackson Thriller dance classes. Which were cool, but not my cup of tea.

 

Also, there was no Quest on this cruise. I don't know if that was because of sailing out of UK or because of Steve Davis. :confused:

Wife was on the Grandeur OTS on the 1/21 sailing with our daughter............anyone out there know the name of the CD on that cruise...........wife was not impressed............thanks in advance

Steve Davis is a good Cruise Director and is the only CD that takes time out to teach three classes to customers to perform the Thriller Dance on the end of the Cruise. He has three games shows that he created so it's not the same old stuff. He loves his job and it shows. You will find him doing The hunt, belly flop, taking off and on shows, 70 night. If you don't go to these things you won't see much of him.

Adventure OTS - Mercedes Lafuente started January 19 (until when? Then who?)

 

Allure OTS - Ken Rush started Nov 24 until sometime in late-Feb or early-March, then Allan Brooks. (the handover was supposed to occur in mid-Feb, but Allan is doing an emergency fill-in on Oasis while Jimmy Rhodes recovers from knee surgery and he may be returning to Allure later than expected)

 

Anthem OTS - There will be a 2 person take-out team (Ken Rush and ?) for the first 6-8 weeks, then Joff Eaton is expected to be the regular CD of this ship.

 

Brilliance OTS - Steve Davis from January 24 until the end of May

 

Enchantment OTS - Marc Walker January 10 until mid-May. Mitch Merucci will be filling-in from mid-May until mid-July followed by Marc for another 4 months.

 

Explorer OTS - Leigh Xuereb until March 1, then Keith Williams from March 1 until April 19, followed by Leigh Xuereb on April 19 for 4 months

 

Freedom OTS - Mike Hunnerup from December 22 through mid-late February, then Casey Pelter (exact turnover date?)

 

Grandeur OTS - Ricky Matthews started on January 31 for 4 months.

 

Independence OTS - Joff Eaton November 2 to the end of March (exact date?). Joff will be returning on May 17 through Sept 2014 (Fill-in for April and May 2014 not yet known).

Jewel OTS - Dennis Charles from January 11 until March 15. Then Carly Boileau returns on March 15 for 4 months, followed by Dennis for 2 months.

 

Legend OTS - Paul Rutter January 24 until March 17. Topi Ylönen starts on March 17 for the 2014 European Season

 

Liberty OTS -Rich Edwards Oct 6 until Feb 15, then Jerome Sueur from Feb 15 until April 14, then Rich Edwards returns April 14 for 4 months.

 

Majesty OTS - Simona Ferraiuolo started Feb 10 for 4 months.

 

Mariner OTS - Gordon Whatman started on January 20 for 7 weeks (until March 15? Then who? Dan Whitney?)

 

Navigator OTS - Ship returns from drydock on Feb 5. John Perry will be CD until Feb 16. Then, Mitch Merucci will be filling in from Feb 16 until John Perry returns from his break in mid-April.

 

Oasis OTS - Allan Brooks is filling in for Jimmy Rhodes who is recovering from knee surgery. Then, Drew Devine March 8 through May 17. Then, Rico duBriel May 17 through July 19. Then Drew Devine July 19 through mid-November.

 

Quantum OTS - Jimmy Rhodes will be taking out the ship and continuing on as its regular CD. Ken Rush will also be onboard for the first 6-8 weeks doing behind the scenes duties to provide a smooth take out

 

Radiance OTS - Amy Fickert began on November 16 until March 3, and will return after her break. (who will be filling-in during Amy's break? for 2 months?)

 

Rhapsody OTS - Graham Seymour Feb 1 through August 1

 

Serenade OTS - John Blair started February 1 until March 16, then Anthony Richards.

 

Splendour OTS - Michelle Pimentinha started Dec 8 for the South American season

 

Vision OTS - Rico du Breil for the Panama season, Nov 11 through April 26

 

Voyager OTS - Bobby Brown started Feb 13 for the remainder of the Australian season. Lixin Fang is expected to return for the Asian season

 

 

Richard Spacey is now Manager of Entertainment, Activities and Family Strategy Development for Celebrity Cruises in their corporate offices in Miami, working alongside Becky Thompson.

Dave Chapman has left RCCL. He is taking an extended break, and then he will be moving over to another cruiseline.

James Andrews is a real estate agent in Sydney

Mike Szwajkowski is a Canadian Mountie

Leo Papa at Cornell University working on a Master's degree in Hospitality Administration/Management

Anna Bass is now Client Services Manager at ISS London

Abe Hughes is Director of Port Revenue Operations at Royal Media Partners

João Pereira left RCI in May 2013 and is now studying Portuguese/English education and translation at Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas in Brazil

Kirk Detweiler is now CD with Silversea cruises.

Simeon Baker - married a dancer, had a baby girl and is a sales exec at a Porsche dealer in Saskatchewan

Matt Baker - Sim's brother - recently married and living in Wales. They bought a pub called the Tiddley

Kieron Buffrey - CD with Holland America

Tom Canosa - teaching 6th grade science in North Carolina

Peter Benfield and Johnny Osborne have emigrated to Thailand

 

Jerome Sueur, Bill Brunkhorst and Luke Aerowsmith are currently on break.

 

(If anyone knows the whereabouts of other former RCI cruise directors, I'd be happy to add them to the end of this list, as there seems to be a lot of questions about them)

Did not see this name on many other sources including DonnaK list. Wonder if he was some kind of temporary since did not see his name anywhere else despite him being a CD for at least 10 yrs it appears from his resume?

In any case, thank you very much for your help. Regards and see you on the next cruise to wherever..............they are all mostly good unless cancelled like our Millenium itinerary of all time

I guess it is great to have Ricky Mathews back on the Grandeur......................but cruises in March and April are sold out so ENJOY all you lucky people

Was Steve Davis an assistant CD on Jewell a few years ago. I'm thinking he was with Joff Eaton but I am probably wrong. If he was, I thought he was very funny.:confused:

 

We loved Steve on Jewel B2B2B in Nov/Dec 2012 and did all three of his "Thriller" dances!

Does anyone know if this nice Mrs. O´Connor ( Clodah??) is still withing the fleet?? Such a nice lady!

Clo makes an appearance every once in a while as a fill-in to cover someone's break, but she hasn't had a regular assignment in a long time. She was most recently on Adventure April 21, 2013 - August 4, 2013

Who is going to be on Radiance for Alaska run Starting in May?

 

Nothing is known beyond March 3rd for this ship. It might be Amy; if she is going to be the regular CD, then she'll be back from her break at the beginning of May.

I thought someone a ways back reported talking to Amy and was told by her that she was going back to RD. Or am I not remembering correctly? Not that anything is ever set in stone around here. :)

LOL...I think I'm the one who doesn't remember correctly! I wrote it myself on the list that Amy was returning after her break. We just don't know the dates, because her current contract was extended and a fill-in hasn't been announced.

 

Regardless, Amy will very likely be back by the start of Radiance's Alaskan season

Thank you so much for pointing out that everyone needs to go back a few hundred posts and 40 web pages to find out what they need to know.........you are the epitome of a "helpful" CC cruiser.....Google couldn't find this and neither did the CC search..................perhaps he is not worth anyone's effort to look further from what I am told since I was not on the cruise I mentioned

I saw you wrote she was returning...but returning "where" could have been in question. And probably until she has returned, we won't be absolutely sure where. :) But I thought we thought it was RD.
