lynaberdeen Posted June 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2013 We are thinking if booking on eclipse for one of her 2014 sailings and have previously done m class in the aft Fv cabins. Can anyone recommend good cabins on s class - travelling with a 4 year old? Thanks for any advice..
TommyD3 Posted June 10, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2013 There are 4 family cabins at the front of the ship. Two on deck 7 and two on deck 8. The very front most cabins on each deck. They are veranda cabins. The cabins are HUGE, about the size of a Royal Suite. They have a master bedroom, a living area (with sofa, TV and dinner table), a second bedroom and a bathroom. The second bedroom has bunk beds and is VERY small. Celebrity tries to have a minimum of 5 in the cabins, but my family of 4 has used them many times. Very good price for the square footage. Just beware you will feel every swell of the ocean and hear everything when docking or anchoring. When they put the anchor down you will hear it and feel it. This cabin is actually forward of the navigational bridge.

I think if you could swing a Sky Suite in a midship location you would be better off with just one child. It is quite a hike to the cabin from just about anywhere you want to go on the ship; 20 minutes round trip to get a cup of coffee from the buffet!! Rare cruisestitch Posted June 10, 2013 #4 Share Posted June 10, 2013 With just one child, and a young one at that, there probably isn't much need to have an oversized cabin. But some parents avoid balcony rooms with children that small, so if you would consider an oceanview room with no verandah, look at the cabins all the way forward that overlook the helipad, the ones in between the Family rooms. Yes, you feel the motion more, but they are great rooms.
WestLakeGirl Posted June 10, 2013 #5 Share Posted June 10, 2013 Plenty of room in those cabins and the beds go port-starboard instead of forward-aft
hansolosmom Posted June 10, 2013 #6 Share Posted June 10, 2013 We just use a plain old balcony with a family of 4. Yes we put all 4 of us in 1 room & it's never been an issue. The balcony rails are plenty high, but if you have a climber you may want to consider a OV room which works too. I would just avoid anything without rooms overhead for example I wouldn't do a room under the dining room in case someone is still taking naps since there could be noise in the afternoon.
