Just got a nice email from Princess letting us know we have been upgraded from ME to MA category. Not exactly sure what that means but it sounds good...

 

Can someone tell me what this means for us? Thanks!

ME & MA are cabin categories. MA is a higher (better) category although there are always some who will disagree. Did you get a cabin number? If so, check the deck plans on Princess.com

Your minisuite will be midship on Dolphin deck rather than fore on dolphin or aft on Emerald. Congrats.

 

Are you 3/4 in the minisuite or just a couple?

Depending on which ship you are sailing, it is likely that you will be moving from a private, totally covered balcony, to one that is totally exposed from above and totally not private.

They may have had a ME guarantee so they may not have had an actual Emerald cabin.

All the mini-suites are the same size with just a few exceptions. The ones on Emerald are covered but there are not that many of them. The ones on Dolphin are not covered. Most minisuites are on Dolphin deck. Assuming you have great weather, you will be fine. If it is raining, you would probably prefer to have a covered deck.

 

You will be in a good central location, near the center elevators. Many people love this location.

 

If you did have a cabin number for ME category on Emerald deck, I would see if you can get your cabin back because it is fully covered. This is really the only benefit. If you had a guarantee, there probably is not much you can do unless there are ME cabins available.
