rundent Posted June 14, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2013 I have cruised on the Emerald 4 times but never, until September, on the Carib. Princess. I can find my way around the former with confidence and wonder what I'll find different.
cruiserdru Posted June 14, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2013 Best bet is to look at the public deck plans for each ship online. A quick look at my Cruise Atlas shows a lot of the biggies are in the same places (dining rooms, Horizon Court, passenger services, medical center, explorer lounge, International Cafe, Club Fusion, theater) or close enough if you turn around you will see them. The casinos, specialty dining, teen centers, mini-golf are different.

Sanibel*Gal Posted June 14, 2013 #4 Share Posted June 14, 2013 The Caribbean Princess has the "handle" where Skywalkers is located but does not have the Adagio Bar.;)
cubfan63 Posted June 14, 2013 #5 Share Posted June 14, 2013 Casino, Crown Grill, Wheelhouse Bar and Sabatini's are different places on Caribbean, compared to Emerald. On Caribbean, Casino on deck 7 forward of Atrium, a smaller Wheelhouse is still on deck 7 but behind Explorers. Sabatini's is next to Wheelhouse. Crown Grill is on Deck 6 under Casino. Caribbean also has Window Suites. As already noted, Caribbean does not have Adagio.
Rare PescadoAmarillo Posted June 14, 2013 #6 Share Posted June 14, 2013 The Caribbean Princess has more/bigger outdoor areas with loungers as a result of Skywalkers being a shopping cart handle. The Piazza is not quite as pretty, IMO. The carpeted Piazza stairs are nice to walk down but not as pretty to look at. The FC and CC area is bigger with a nice waiting area. I like the Adagio and Sabatinis areas on the Emerald Princess.
rundent Posted June 15, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted June 15, 2013 Guess I'll be pretty much at home. Hope I'm not too spoiled by an Oceania cruise in 10 days. Really like Princess but want to see if money can buy an even better experience - or it won't wind up mattering to me.
