Ocean Boy Posted June 19, 2013 #26 Share Posted June 19, 2013 Why Captain? I've never been on a cruise but we have 2 balconys booked (next to each other) and one inside cabin (opposite)! So would be awesome if that is possible x Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app I suspect it has to do with parties occurring on connecting balconies. And that might be especially true with college kids. Over the years I have read of people having success with getting the dividers open. Maybe some of the decisions are made on an individual basis depending on how the staff feels the people making the request will use the area. On some ships the dividers are part of the ship's structure and are not movable.
Clarea Posted June 19, 2013 #27 Share Posted June 19, 2013 By side facing I guess you mean along the long edge? Our 2 are along the long side x Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app Yes, side facing is along the long edge. Those have the capability to be opened, so just ask your stateroom attendant. It's possible that management might not allow it, but you won't know that until you ask.
