New Orleans debarkation question

Our ship arrives at 8am. Our flight leaves at 11am. Is that enough time if we use self debarkation? I'm not familiar with how efficient (or not) Carnival is at getting people off. Thanks.

That should leave sufficient time but beware, sometimes they would not let the ship enter the miss. river if there is fog, which will be an 8 hour delay.

Cutting it close in case of any customs delays but it is only a 30 minute ride to the airport.

Close, but if you get off first you should be ok to get to the airport. On a sunday it's about 15 - 25 mins on the interstate -

When we self debark (carry own luggage off) we are usually home by 9am, we live 20 mins away.

And even though the published arrival time is 8am, the ship is almost always tied up to the pier shortly after 6:30 and debarkation has begun between 7 and 7:30.

 

But things can and do go wrong.

 

I was on the Conquest in April and it was foggy and pouring down rain when we finally got back to the pier AFTER 9am.......We didn't get off the ship (doing Platinum self-assist) until almost 10:15.
