CalaDragonflyLady Posted June 26, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2013 I am sailing on the Carnival Breeze, which will dock on Aruba on my birthday. I am an adventurous solo, curious if anyone can recommend a restaurant that is easy to find (and not too far from the ship). I am somewhat of a foodie, enjoy the Chef's table and Steakhouse, but not really into seafood other than lobster/crab/scallops and fish like tilapia. Should I keep my steakhouse reservation for the night, or Aruban food?

CalaDragonflyLady Posted June 26, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted June 26, 2013 WHICH steakhouse? Sorry! The one on the ship :D
Arubalisa Posted June 27, 2013 #4 Share Posted June 27, 2013 ;) Got it now ;) Imo take a look at http://www.barefootaruba.com/ and http://www.passions-restaurant-aruba.com/. See if either of these alternatives are more appealing than those on the ship. Both are an easy taxi ride from the cruise terminal.

Thanks for the recommendations...........I've noticed your name on the boards and figured you were the Aruba expert! I found Barefoot Aruba when Googling.......Passions seems couple-centric to me but I dunno......I'm also considering http://www.yemanja-aruba.com/ - the menu looks wonderful! Arubalisa Posted June 29, 2013 #6 Share Posted June 29, 2013 I have a friend who has dined solo at Passions, but Yemanja gets raves reviews. We haven't had the time to get there, but would not hesitate to.

Sunny AZ Girl Posted July 3, 2013 #9 Share Posted July 3, 2013 I have a friend who has dined solo at Passions, but Yemanja gets raves reviews. We haven't had the time to get there, but would not hesitate to. Yemanja looks good, but I don't see any prices? Is it a "If I have to ask I can't afford it" type of place? We are looking for an affordable place near the ship, with a nice atmosphere. Entrees $20 or less. Is that possible to find?
Arubalisa Posted July 3, 2013 #10 Share Posted July 3, 2013 It says gluten free, but it is their actual menu from September 2012 (another i found online was from 2010) http://restaurantsofaruba.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/GlutenfreeYemanja.pdf
