Deb&Bert Posted June 26, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2005 Standard comp's is 1 for 15 Now you can use your amenite point to get 1 for 12 which is 2 point 1 for 10 is 4 point (Means the 11th person would be free) 1 for 8 is 6 point (Then 9th person would be free) Not berth's but just one person. You get anywhere from NONE to 6 points per cruise for booking 8 or more cabins. The rooms sometimes are not even cheaper towards the end of the cruise. Use to be Carnival would change the price if it went down. Sometimes they still will if your atleast 4 months away.. After that No way!!! Of course that could change bepends on who you speak with!!!! GottaLuvCruising Posted June 26, 2005 #5 Share Posted June 26, 2005 A group block of eight staterooms is as doubles (16 people). Since groups need to be blocked far in advance, they usually get some of the lowest fares available for a particular sailing. And typically, the fare is a little less than if you were to book as individuals at that time (varies and depends on the line and sailing but often $20 - $40 per person). But as the ship fills up and the fare increases, your group block stays the same, becoming an even better value. The added benefit are the amenities offered for booking as a group. Your amenity points can add another $50 or more per person to the value of your cruise. Plus, if you book enough staterooms, you could earn "tour conductor" (free fare) for one or more guests. kimcruiser Posted June 26, 2005 #6 Share Posted June 26, 2005 FYI, You also only get the price of the cruise back for that person (16th) and not the taxes or govt fees. We have done this on 3 previous cruises. Oh and they usually give you a bottle of champane or on board credit too.:)
